Thank you so much for this information. This actually confirms why I have noticed some darkening in one of the corners (not really apparent unless looked for) on my monitors. It makes sense now.
Overall, I for one still really like these monitors especially for the price I paid for them. The...
This is an interesting observation because my den is by far the coolest place in my house. We're talking about temps between 60 - 65 degrees sometimes it even feels colder.
I really wonder if the uniformity issue really could be a realtive room temp issue. hhhmmmm
A coupe of things I have noticed since using both of these monitors is that on one of them (I have two) I believe I do see the effects of some uneven white uniformity. Only really noticeable with glaring white images. However, on this same monitor I think this one isn't as bright as my second...
So I have my settings as 0 brightness 74 contrast with 99R 98G and 100B. Looks decent so far but my question is for those of you who have been playing with the settings do you think I should adjust my gamma as well? if so, to what? I have an nvidia 9800GTX+ video card.
Thanks in advance!
How do you set the gamma on this thing? Id' like to reiterate if anyone would like to share their settings that would be great! I too much of a newb when setting up proper settings on a monitor.
"My 2209wa came in.
I used spyder2pro and 2.05 gamma (2.2 is way too dark)
12brightness 100red 96green 100blue = 149cdm2 6500k
Sharpness set to 40 (it's a little too high at default)"
I was just going to post if anyone had any decent settings to set the monitor too so I'm glad you posted...
Just got mine in today and my second one is coming tomorrow :D the height adjustment is a huge plus for me. So far with only turning down the brightness a little this monitor is beautiful. Best of all no dead pixels (Thank goodness) First two brand new LG's out of the box for me each had issues...
If i'm not mistaken 32-bit OS is only able to use 3 GB of RAM and no more. That's one of the limitations of a 32-bit OS. However, if you ever decide to go 64 you'll be set.
I'm glad the info I passed out is working well for everybody, especially Marcus! lol... I just hope this LCD works out well. I havent had much luck with getting a good panel out of the box with other manufacturers yet :S so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Basically yes, I navigated to the Dell Small bussiness section where you can view the monitor and called the number right up top.
Take note though, not all of those sales people know what they are doing. I got one sales guy last night that had no idea what I was talking about.
If you do...
You were right jfox8!
I called Dell again this morning and spoke to a person named Marcus Jones who sold me the monitor for $200 plus tax. Sweet deal!!! If your interested in this monitor at that price ask for Marcus. He'll hook you up!
That's interesting. I just called Dell tonight and they said there is no such deal for this specific monitor. The price online is the price you pay when you call in.
Who was your sales rep? I'ld like to know because if you indeed got that deal on that monitor I need to get a serious price...
Quick update. I went to BB and bought another l227wtg-pf to compare the two in my home and I'm now convinced my first monitor was defective.
I plugged in the new monitor and could see a big difference. I no longer see the obvious yellow tinge on the bottom right hand side of the screen...
Thanks for the replies so far!
Bryson, What did you end up doing with your monitor? Did you exchange it and find that the new exchanged monitor was much improved?
Does anyone know the optimal distance to sit away from a 22 inch monitor? I know too close is bad, but to far would be bad as...
Hi Guys,
I just got a brand new LG l227wtg-pf which I love so far but the one thing I have noticed is the on the right hand side of the monitor, when displaying a totally white page (i.e. google, about:blank and etc) it starts to get a very light yellowish tinge to it.
It's a little more...
