so i softbricked my cmp741e but flashing the rom on the craig site, after about 2 weeks of messing i got it back up with the help of some people on another forum and their nandroids....i can flash cm9 and cm10 but touchscreen wont work because we have a severe lack of developers with this device...
i have a similar question regarding these 2 cpus.
they look nearly same spec by spec (except for frequency, graphics, and cache) but are both 17watt cpus...
Which would you say would use less battery?
for some reason i would have to say the i7 would beat out this very similar i5

custom build raid i5-i7 rackmount server
So I'm researching the feasibility of an building in-house NVR for a security camera upgrade project at my company. We'll be moving to megapixel cameras over ip....just wondering if anyone has built their own reliable nvr from scratch, if so what software do you use?
it depends on which version of windows 7 ur talking about, for my SSD company image i was able to slim it down to 11GB with just drivers and all windows updates loaded (nvidia 266 drivers eat a big chunk)
newegg business has this drive right now for buy 4, get 1 free so u can get 320gb if u raid 0 em if u got a badass enough controller, or at least raid 5 em for safety and get tons of bandwidth
ya thats what we're looking for, just high def or at least usable, we've been using trusty BOSCH DiBOS systems for a while but they are outdated and very pixelated, pretty much useless footage whenever we have incidents
So my company is looking to update it's cameras for higher resolution so we can capture license plates, faces, and if need be zoom in to certain spots. I would also like some cameras to be night vision capable and perhaps if they have some sort of way to read license plates in total darkness, I...

I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong here, I just deployed a new file server at an offsite location, it's running a fresh install of Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, I removed IIS from it and pretty much only have it serving home drives and a shared network folder for 5 users at that...
anyone familiar or have used this before to join their systems to a Microsoft active directory? are there any recommended alternatives or better ways to authenticate admins access to ubuntu?
So I was wondering what you guys would recommend and where to place them on a new file server we're building for one our offsite locations, the system will be ran in RAID 1 mirrored with dual 1TB drives and currently has 4GB of ram which should be plenty for what it will be doing, mainly acting...
we've got enough security in our office that it's been called fort knox by visitors, lol...i wouldnt worry much if users lost their usb cuz u have to get into our offices first to access anyones domain pc
I hear Windows 8 (or whatever they call the next version of windows) is supposed to have biometrics face recognition so as soon as you sit in front of your desktop or laptop it logs you into your user, but who knows how long it'll be for that to come out, that would be great though.
I was asked the question today if we could use some sort of USB memory stick to log into our windows boxes instead of typing our long passwords out everytime we lock a system, I alway see options in networking about smartcard and so and so but I've never really looked into it...so it got me...
So I can't find any new VLC installers in MSI form, I want to deploy this over our network via group policy but for the love of god I cannot figure out how to create an MSI from an existing exe.
The latest version of VLC player can be found here...
