I got frustrated yesterday when it froze on me again, and bought a new motherboard at a local computer store. The Biostar M7VIZ, I don't know if it has a good reputation or not but all the problems I were having are gone! I'm so happy :D It only cost $52 after tax too.

I have the ATI HDTV Wonder running on a system with: ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, Athlon XP 2600+ @ 2.08 GHz, 2x 512 MB DDR PC 2100, and i can record 1920x1088 1080i HD with 20% cpu usage, so if I wanted to i could just mute the recording and watch another show? :)

to check the ambient temp put a thermometer inside the case. thats the easiest way to check the temp, cause most software monitors only tell yout the cpu and mobo temps

umm... its not possible, what you are trying to do is connect two devices to the same port

ati already announced there knew video chips for handheld devices i am not sure if thats what you mean though...

if your system runs then its an ok temp, and a good prog is asus system probe which you can get at asus's website for free!

check your card manufacturer to know for sure but i don't see why not, even if, its nothing a little modding can't fix :)

the asus cards are always alittle higher cause the raise the clock alittle since they also use custom cooling and other products

www.ati.com if there not there for llinux then i wouldn't recommend using 3rd part ones...

try updating your display drivers

i have a clear side panel and have no probs with my tv tuner, but if you have no probs with your pc right now then i don't see how a tv tuner would get damaged by anything :)

default 3dmark in not an accurate measurment of your video card/ pc power anyway :p according to ati representatives at least :p

it all depends on what your system setup is and the cooling you are using

supposedy the longer its OCed the more it gets used to the setting and runs stabler, so yea run it while you sleep but be careful how high you do it cause it would really suck to wake up to a fried video card :p

use windows xp :p
