There seems to be a slight price premium that Corsair charges for their CS series. Seems like Anandtech favors the CS as one model appeared in last year's recommended PSU. The only difference that I can really see is 80 PLUS Gold certified efficiency for the CS. I'm not sure what the difference...
My desk is about two meters from my bed. Before I go to bed, I open a bunch of windows and a email client on my dual monitor set up. This way the minute I wake up, I can immediately go to my desk, move the mouse to activate the screen and then have all of the information available to me...
Whenever I shut down my computer, the hard drive dock doesn't shut down with the computer. I'll have to manually press the power button or the hard drive keeps on spinning. Is it possible to get the hard drive dock to power off with the computer?
I don't know of any other software that can do this so I usually use Microsoft Paint to do this. Sometimes I want to edit out some information that are in the screenshots that I take. I don't know of any software that can securely blur out the information. I'm always afraid that someone can...
Have this been confirmed on this forum? Seems ridiculous how once I upgrade my Windows 7 retail license, I'll have to buy a brand new Windows 10 license in the future if I buy a new CPU/mobo.
So if I upgrade to Windows 10 using my Windows 7 serial number, is that key locked to my custom built PC for life? Is this confirmed to be the case? So if change the CPU and mobo to the new Intel Skylake platform in the future, will I have to buy a new Windows 10 license? It makes no sense to me...
I can't wait until the reviews come in. It would be great to have a 4K monitor, but the sexy design of the U2715H and the fact that most Windows apps aren't optimized for high DPI displays mean I'll hold out on upgrading to 4K for the foreseeable future.
Are there any 1080p TV with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2? I don't see a point in buying a 4K TV for the forseeable future. 4K content downscale to 1080p is going to look very good. I want to buy a 1080p TV that will be compatible with the 4K Blu-Ray discs that will be released next year.

Unfortunately I don't have a Windows Phone device, but it seems like Office Lens is exactly what I'm looking for. Fortunately what I intend to scan are all computer...
I'm using Google Chrome and I love Microsoft's web clipper extension. It does a pretty good job at clipping an entire web page including ones with scroll bars. I've never tried Evernote before so I don't know if it can clip an entire web page. One big complaint that I and others have is the low...
What's the advantage of a curved screen? I had a chance to check out Samsung's curved 4K TVs, but I wasn't exactly wowed by them. Maybe it's just me, but I actually prefer a flat screen. I think Dell should just make two versions to appease people like me.
I have the Canon CanoScan 9000F scanner. After thinking and debating whether to scan into JPEG or PDF first, I decided that I'm going to scan into JPEG first. Now I'm trying to figure out what are the optimal settings to use. I'm using the Canon MP Navigator EX software to scan. I've selected...
I have some documents that I have to scan. I bought the Canon Canoscan 9000F a couple of years ago. I never even opened it until yesterday. I also have a copy of Adobe Acrobat X that came with my other document scanner. So what is the difference between scanning to JPEG and scanning to PDF? I am...
I use to use DBAN to wipe my hard drives. My only problem with DBAN is that it doesn't work with USB drives. I no longer have an optical drive installed. Are you guys aware of any apps that are as effective as DBAN, but works either from within Windows or boots up from USB flash drives?
Not sure if you even bother to read the texts that were quoted, but I'll post it again. How does one go and use Truecrypt to do that? The SSD have 37.3GB of total space and right now there is 14GB left. I'm assuming Windows and Office is taking up most of the space. Since I can't delete Windows...

I have heard about that before. How does one go and use Truecrypt to do that? The SSD have 37.3GB of total space and right now there is 14GB left. I'm assuming Windows and Office is taking up most of the space. Since I can't delete Windows and still use Truecrypt, are you recommending that I...
I have an old Intel 40GB SSD. It's one of the earliest models of SSDs that Intel released on to the market. I want to sell it and get whatever I can for it. Before I do that, I need to know how to securely remove my data from the SSD. The Intel SSD software have a secure delete option. Does that...
I think one of the reviews for this NUC said third party cases may allow the addition of a 2.5" HDD/SSD. This NUC is almost perfect for my needs and will consume minimal amount of power. I do want to use a 2.5" SSD though. Does anyone here know of a third party case (preferably in black) that...
At about 11 PM last night, my computer started crashing on me. I would get the BSOD with a very long error message. I only have enough time to write down some of it before it restarts. The error message starts with 0x000000F4.
After the BSOD, the computer will restart. Then it'll get stuck...
It's kind of late to be announcing this given that Haswell is going to launch in under a week. I do hope Gigabyte will quickly update this to support Haswell because Intel will be reasing a Haswell-based NUC in the very near future.
Can someone tell me if the Seasonic X-660W will fit this case?
Also, have recent versions of the Prodigy fixed the issue of the flimsy legs? I'm afraid my case might start tipping base on some of the reviews that I've read. lol!
I'm just using the backup profile. I'm not copying anything from the OS directories. These are just strictly file folders that I created.
Nope, the log doesn't show any errors, but it does show files were skipped. No explanations were provided as to why.
Where can I upload the log to? It's...
One of the reasons why I started to use Syncback is because there is a secure copy option. It's suppose to verify that the original file matches the copied version. Two days ago, I copied about 18,000 files from an external hard drive to my computer. The program said the transfer was successful...
