A note on that case. The newer video cards (I have the HD3850) are very long. You might have problems fitting one in your case with the 5.25" drives there. Just a word of caution.
You know, as bad as it sounds, SWG:Jump to Lightspeed (before Rage of the Wookiees) was really fun. PvE and PvP. Course, in the end my friend and I got bored and we would have a contest to see who could do something the fastest/without getting hit/etc.
We quit shortly after that.
erm...yeah you can....
I've got an Opteron 170 @ 2.7Ghz, ASRock 939Dual SATA 2, 3 Sata drives, 1 IDE drive, CD burner, DVD burner, and an X800 XL AGP all running off of 350W...

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 (1.50 Bios)
AMD Retail cooler
/edit:
Temp2 is the CPU, under full load (or as close as I can get it) it gets to about 53C @ 1.40v which will prime95 for hours on end. My motherboard tops at 274Mhz...
I've got the same gripe. The closest thing we've got not to a space combat sim is SWG: Jump to Lightspeed. It's ok as far as combat sims go, the graphics are ok. I know that there is a really nice open source C++ 3D engine (http://www.OGRE3D.org) that could make one. I started playing around...
Using Frontpage for websites is like using Word to publish the JC Penny catalog...stupid.
stay far far far away from it. I use dreamweaver mainly because of the coloring of code. It makes it much easier to keep things organized in my head.
Hmm...
$749 - 30% off - $14 (Free shipping) - $35 (Dell Home Coupon) + $40.37 (Tax to TX) + $14 (Shipping) = $529.67 shipped.
That's $2 more than I got my first for. Now if only I could justify it.
I've got my 2500 running almost 2.4Ghz. I think it's 14x170 @ 1.55v. I can't unlock the multi on mine (super locked), so I've gotta go with tamer settings.
Well, on a good day (ie not 95 outside) I get 48c 49c when playing SWG, Far Cry, Sim City 4, etc. It usually idles around 43c. My apartment is usually about 78f. I don't have that great of a case for cooling. It's pretty cramped.
Athlon XP-M 2500
MSI KT6V-LSR
1Gb of some crappy Xerox PC 4000
TT Silent Boost
Right now I'm running at
170x14 for 2380 @ 1.5v
I don't really feel the need to go higher and honestly don't want to risk it.
/edit: Yes I know my RAM is way over what I'd need and it is crappy. I...
This is what my work place recommends for it's faculty and staff
I hate that they don't reccomend an AMD option. But that's ok. I'm actually working on it right now and it's pretty quick for a work computer. I don't play games or use anything really taxing (XMLSPY, Dreamweaver MX...
Hmm, I've got Far Cry on CD. It's only 4 CDs. Nothing bad. As far as DVD vs. CD-RW drives. I don't watch many (read in 6 months I've watch 1) DVDs on my computer. I don't know why, I just don't.
Well..see that's the thing. I can't change the multi w/o a pin + wire mod. I'm not willing to do that. As far as ratios go I can't change it. It *always* shows up as 14x. The PCI/AGP ratio can't be adjusted on my board I don't think? Is there a way to access hidden menus on MSI boards like...
I've got an Athlon XP-M 2500+ in a MSI KT6V-LSR (I know it's not the est, but hey it cost me $20). Right now I've got it OC'd 14x166. It works great. the only problem is I can't increase the FSB anymore, or at least it doesn't show up in CPUID or CPUZ. I change the FSB to 200 and it reads...
Mainboard: MSI KT6V-LSR
Overclock: 14x166
Voltage: 1.55
Temp: 46idle 56load
HSF: SilentBoost
Memory: 768Mb The Cheap stuff. Actually right now it would be called the cheap stuff. It was the first round of PC2700 that came out. Got some PC3500 coming in soon...I'll see how high I can go...
I don't know, I've got a MSI KT6 Delta and it works well enough for my needs. I'm not extreme in my oc, more moderate. My KT6 is running my Athlon XP-M 2500 at 166x14 right now. I'd go faster but I've got "old" PC2700 Ram, so it won't go past 166. Plus, I got the board for $20.
$20...
