Just to give you a heads up, that's a PCI-Express Videocard you're looking at. I doubt your friend could use PCI-Express.

Just buy a new HSF, and be careful with the voltages. I doubt you'll need much of an overclock.

There are a couple ways to do it through Windows, but they never run as well as a straight BIOS overclock. The uGuru is supposed to do a good job of it though.

uGuru is also a chip. I strongly advise against doing it. You don't have the right hardware, and the repercussions are unknown and aren't likely to be good.

Don't underclock your video card... . Just return it if you're going to do that. That completely destroys the point of buying a new card. Just get it replaaced.

You're best off runnign abunch of Prime95 tests and also watching your temps during these tests. Web browsing temps aren't very importnat.
