    I will be trying Linux. I've played with it a little in the past so I'm not that great with it. It will take me some time to set it up correctly. Traffic? Very little. It will have at the most 3-4 people.

    I just need a small server for my house. It will be mainly a file and print server. No games, websites, etc. Any suggestions on the hardware? I will be buying plenty of HDs to fill this beast. We have a lot of videos, pics, etc that need to go on the server. Thanks for any help.

    Does the modem really matter?

    Just yesterday I had my rented comcast modem die on me. It made me wonder if I would have better results with a Linksys modem or the like. I do a lot of downloading and uploading. So..if anyone can answer this. Does the cable modem really matter?

    Its an older system.. P3 1.8Ghz 256Mb RAM 40g HD I would but the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150. I would also upgrade HD space later on.

    Problems with new memory

    I'm so dissapointed with my new memory. I was running 1g Corsair Value Ram (2x512). I had my FSB bumped up to 230 with no problems. So I thought i would upgrade my memory. I bought some 2g OCZ Plat. Edition...(2x1g). It can't even handle my FSB at 215. It freaks out. Windows won't load correctly...

    Some help with a HP Pavilion ze5185

    It starts to load up just fine. But then it gets to the blue windows XP screen and it just stops. What could be causing this? Its my cousins laptop and she only wants to reformat if she has no other option. I've tried booting into safe mode with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

    Need some help burning DVDs

    I have a few AVI files that I'm trying to convert to DVD format. I've tried WinAVI and DVD Santa. DVD Santa seems to work ok with converting..but WinAVI gets stuck at around 99% for some reason. I left it for awhile to see if it was just finishing..with no luck. I took a few of the files...

    I don't think I'll be gaming on it. I haven't wanted to play any games in a long time. If I do I'll upgrade the card tho. The Hauppage PVR-150 seems to be a lot like mine. Maybe not. I'm not sure. I have the PNY MC2 Mulimedia Control Center. Would it be able to do the same things?
