I suggest that you get a different heatsink thats more capable of disipating the heat. That and make sure that your fans are running in a logical order, not like all fans blowing in, have it so that your moving air accross your heatsink and such.
My vote is accidentally not having the PSU switch in the right pos, or that it needs a CMOS clear. You might want to check to make sure that your leads from the case to to the motherboard are correct, and if that doesnt work, try to take out the PSU from the case and jump start it. (Connect pins...
For your video card, you really don't have to use the NV whatever. All it does is killl your flow rate, and waste's cooling power. Just get an MCW-55 or maze 4, if you get the Swiftech MCW-55, make sure you buy 1/2" Barbs for it aswell!
If you plan on doing heavy OC's (Like max out your CPU) I HIGHLY suggest getting an OCZ Powerstream. Other than that, like people have said before MSI would be an excellent choice, but the SLI only, not the Single PCI slot one.
Edit: I take that back. Any later model MSI (Neo4) will be fine...
Heres a question that I don't remember being asked. What is your idle and load tempratures (To ensure you achieve peak load, run two instances of prime95, or some other CPU torture device)
Do any of you guys know if it is possible to put swiftechs BGA Video Memory sinks on a 6800GT that has an MCW-55 on it (With barbs) without clearance issues?
Hey guys, this is the real deal, he wont pull any shady stuff. Hes a good bud of mine. If you have any questions about his cred you can ask me.
See ya later.
Thats wierd, he said that he was on it the night before, and everything was fine, and I think someone would notice the smell of burning PCB. I know that smell is VERY distinct.
Are you sure that there wasnt any movement inside your case when you initlally tried to start it up. Because if...
You should slipstream it because you get the "better" firewall, and stuff. Blah just do it, it doesnt take more than 15 minutes and it will give you a lot less headache.
Put it this way, you'll get sick of your system before parts die (IF YOU OVERCLOCK WISELY; I.E. Don't Be an Idiot). Don't worry about it too much, if you take the proper precautions you'll be okay.
Uh...if your getting s754 you might be okay, but I don't know anything for sure. The AGP is killing you. I think you should try to sell it and get a PCI-E card, if you stay with AGP you are limmiting your options to absolute poo-poo.
When? Are you expecting this board to take a shit on you or somthing? Thats very surprising....
At any rate, I think you would be better served looking at dfi-street.com and seeing what people experiences are with their support. (I think their tech support is top notch, they have a full time...
What waterblock are you going to use? The Apogee? The Storm? If you're going to use the storm, i HIGHLY suggest putting the pump outlet on the inlet of the storm ( pump----->waterblock----->(inmycase)GPU--->Rad----->Res------>Pump) Thats my setup. But other than what other people have said...
Dude if you're on this forum chances are you'll be fine with it. It doesnt take more than some commonsense and google/dfi-street.com If you wan't the board bad enough (like you're making it sound) just get it and quit second guessing yourself. I think you'll have a ball with it, once you get...
Yeah, they dont come sealed, they are just folded over and taped onto the bulk of the anti-static bag. But like the guy above said, just make sure they take care and look to make sure that it doesnt look like it has be "messed" with.
