    Asrock Z87E-ITX

FWIW the antenna that came with my Z77E-ITX was terrible. I connected the mini antennas that came with my old zotac and that greatly boosted reception. I'm currently using the Intel Centrino 6235 (as mentioned earlier) and it works great. Looking forward to moving it to this board when I upgrade.

    Asrock Z87E-ITX

My point is that I already have a mSATA SSD on the Z77E-ITX that won't transfer over. Are there even any M.2 SSDs yet? Doh! Didn't even think that they'd be shared. So I guess I won't really lose any SATA ports in the end. Good to know! Decisions, decisions...

    Asrock Z87E-ITX

Anyone knows how the audio compares to the Asus ROG Maximus VI Impact Mini-ITX? I don't see "Purity Audio" in the specs or on the board, but it is running the Realtek ALC1150. The headphone amp and DTS connect are very welcome though. I just want a mITX board with decent sound for once. I'm...

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

I'm using a H50 at 1.34v. 4.60 is the max this board can do. No idea what load temps are. Haven't checked in awhile. EDIT: Ran a quick test. My hottest core sits around 73C while the other cores are upper 60s EDIT2: Fixed voltage :p

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

You can fit the 10.5" XFX Double D 7950 if you don't mind cutting out a hole for the couple mm it needs to extend out of the frame. You don't even have to cut the plastic front since it fits inside the gap between it and the frame. I know this, because I just finished doing just that :)

    Zotac Z77 ITX Wifi

Zotac boards tend to be pretty feature packed and I like that they tend to have more SATA ports than other mITX boards. However, Zotac support is shit. If it's anything like their previous boards, the shipping BIOS will be half broken and Zotac typically releases 1 or 2 (if you're lucky)...

    Asrock z77 itx is out

I'm using it with a 64GB mSATA SSD for just Windows and programs (I usually use portableapps). If you're already using a larger SSD, then I guess it won't be of much use to you. I'm not sure if it's a dual slot that can also take mPCIe or if it's just mSATA only. Yup. It's under the Advanced...

ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe in stock @ Newegg

Anyone with this board check to see if Internal PLL Overvoltage setting enabled breaks wake on sleep? That's the only thing that's bugging me about the ASRock.

    Asrock z77 itx is out

What are you seeing exactly? I downloaded the most current drivers for everything from either each hardware manufacturer's website or from station-drivers.com. I never use the included discs or the website because they tend to have outdated drivers. Other than that I manually set the...

    Asrock z77 itx is out

Do you remember what LLC level you were using? I think Level 1 jumps around way too much on load (for me it was like 0.04) whereas Level 2 works really well (jumps only 0.02 or less). Then again I use Offset mode and not Fixed voltage. Other than that, I have no idea what would cause spontaneous...

ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe in stock @ Newegg

The ASRock socket placement is standard for mini-ITX. If you're coming from a previous mini-ITX board, this is a non-issue. You'll have more problems with getting a compatible backplate than a heatsink. The AXP-140 (arguably the best small air cooling heatsink) fits that socket placement. My...

Strange. My ASRock's been fine this past week with a 2500K @ 4.6GHz. I've been reencoding HD movies for the past 2 days for hours on end without even a hiccup.

ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe in stock @ Newegg

LOL at Zotac. Enjoy a half broken BIOS that will get MAYBE 1 BIOS update that doesnt even fix half the problems until they release a new board and drop all support. Not to mention the prices being higher than much more capable boards. This is coming from someone who's bought 2 Zotac boards.

    Asrock z77 itx is out

I'm at 4.6 with around 1.3v. Was pretty easy to get to. Anything over that needs Internal PLL Overvoltage set to Enabled which breaks wake from sleep.

ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe in stock @ Newegg

If it turns out Asus managed to fix the PLL Overvoltage -> broken wake from sleep issue then I might consider replacing the ASRock. I can get up to 4.8 (maybe higher) no problem, but I have to stay at 4.6 if I want working sleep.

ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe in stock @ Newegg

$50 premium over the ASRock Z77E-ITX seems kinda crazy when it overclocks so well so easily. I supposed if you have a larger size case the Asus would be worth it, but then you might as well go mATX. But I'll keep my eye on this thread and see how it does.

    SG05 with USB 3?

If you have the old SG05 there is a USB3.0 upgrade kit sold on online. I found it cheapest on eBay. Part number is G11303260. However the cable is WAY long. I had to coil it several times in order to be able to keep the cable from being all over the place.

    Asrock z77 itx is out

Using an old H50 I picked up used awhile back with a pair of Scythe Slipstream 1200RPM in push pull. I can probably do better on both the heat sink and fan. But I won't worry about that until the Summer heat kicks in.

    Asrock z77 itx is out

I'm currently stressing 4.8GHz with 1.344 - 1.352v on the 2500K. Really wish I didn't have a 6C difference between my hottest and coldest cores, but so far temps are still below 80. I probably need to upgrade my cooling, but I'm pretty happy considering it's a miniITX board. I really doubt the...

    Asrock z77 itx is out

I used washers in place of the H50 backplate and I'll probably have to remount because it was a total pain. But so far I've got my 2500K at 4.5 with load voltage of 1.28. Load temps are low 60's (except for one core which has a 6C difference from the rest so maxes at 65-66). Most settings are...

ASRock tech support actual response -- funny!

Wish that worked with Zotac. Their response to poor RAM compatibility on the H55ITX-CE due to their unchangeable 1T Command Rate timing (among other issues) is to buy another board. Email to tech support and post of their forum requesting a BIOS update were met with "We're not interested in...

Ivy Bridge high-end SFF motherboard compilation

The H77 board has the same ALC892 that my GA-H55N-USB3 has. Can anyone confirm the optical out can do better than 2ch stereo? Because that's all my Gigabyte can do and I'm looking for another ITX that can output in surround over optical.

Ivy Bridge high-end SFF motherboard compilation

The Asus has a better layout especially since the CPU socket is further from the pci-e slot tham most mitx boards, but the Asrock has an msata port on the back that I like. Decisions, decisions.

WANTED: HTC Vivid / Samsung Galaxy SII

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

If it's an inch shorter than it should fit. I think you meant to include 6950 TF2 which MSI shows as 275*110*38mm So you see? MSI's site shows the TF3 version as 5mm shorter than the TF2 which is completely false, because the TF3 shroud is longer which makes it not fit in the SG05 without...

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

Are you sure that will fit? Looks like the same shroud that's on the HD6950 TFIII and it doesn't fit in the SG05 unless you cut a hole in the case for that angled end on the top right. Measurements for the TFIII cards on the MSI website are for the card alone whereas the measurements for the...

    New SFF build (SG05BB-450)

I have a Samuel 17 in a SG05 with rig in sig (2 x RipjawX) and clearance is fine with my board. Not sure what the height of those Corsair's are, but hopefully that helps some.
  38. D

    GPU lengths

Frozr III is longer than the Frozr II due to the shroud being longer. Maybe MSI got the measurements mixed up. I doubt you'll get a Frozr III in there without doing some cutting as the II BARELY fits.
