    Dell S2417DG

There are no backlight bleed problems, no dead pixels. Here's an overexposed cellphone photo I took last night showing what some would call "IPS glow" on a TN panel. :D

    Dell S2417DG

I ordered one because why not and it came in yesterday. I'm a MVA/IPS user, so speed wise I can tell the difference in FPS games. However it must be said, the colors are severely lacking compared to MVA/IPS panels I'm used to. The increased DPI is nice for text, but unscaled. With 125% scaling...

Looks like I finally found some input lag measurements: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/LCD-Hardware-154105/Tests/Dell-UP2715K-Test-1148567/ However, I cannot speak to their accuracy.

    Dell 27" 5K Monitor (5120x2880)

So the official Dell website mentions 3H anti-reflective coating behind glass. I'm not sure why include AR coating if you're going to put it behind glass. Does Apple do that on the iMacs? Anyways, here are some fresh photos I've found on Japanese Engadget...

    Apple 5k Display

My only gripe with OSX are the power controls in comparison to say Win7. It lacks settings to stay awake, etc. There are some apps that try to solve this problem such as NoSleep, but they don't always work after an OS upgrade.

    Razer Deathadder on sale (AMZN)

Got mine a week ago, time to ask for a price adjustment. :) Has been great so far, turned off both LEDs as I prefer the stealth look. I ordered a SteelSeries Sensei RAW earlier and it was a quick return. The scroll wheel on the Sensei was too loud. I also prefer the shape of the DeathAdder...

Bad framerate on the 2014 Corvette tach

Apparently someone else encountered the same problem: http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2013/08/2014-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-first-drive.html I wonder if this is due to a hardware limitation or crappy software. I am curious whether the car you test drove had the latest software.

    Dell U3014 News

Very tempted to pull the trigger on this. Can somebody explain game mode? What exactly is bypassed to provide such a massive reduction in lag (scaling comes to mind)? Is the color reproduction just as accurate? I found a discussion on Dell forums regarding enabling sRGB with game mode...

First time with AR holy crap!!

Manage your environment if ambient light is a problem, don't ruin your experience by opting for an inferior coating. I bought a U2311H when it came out and was absolutely shocked by the coating. It is absolutely dreadful. I will never buy an AG coated desktop display again. If you are going to...

Dell U2413 and U2713H Official Information Appears

That's roughly 3.5 years vs 5 years. Anyways, I'm interested in the news about this monitor because the specs will likely foreshadow the U3013.

take out your crystal balls, i have a question about the future of 30" monitors

There is a significant bias in your description. You break up the process of using a mouse to click a notification into gradual pieces while trivializing the use of a touchscreen. Personally, I don't ever have to break eye contact with the screen to locate the mouse. Furthermore, I find...

take out your crystal balls, i have a question about the future of 30" monitors

Last I've heard, research shows that using touch on such large monitors sucks, because it takes a great deal more effort when compared to using a mouse. Has anyone heard something similar?

PWM flicker fix - add resistor to lower LED brightness

What you're describing is a potentiometer. I don't know much about these PWM implementations but for an LED display you would want to use a current limiting resistor. I imagine it will get quite hot.

Birthday on Friday, want to buy myself a 30" high-res monitor, can't decide on which

Why are you comparing a 24" display to a 30"? Your post doesn't meet his requirements: 2560x1600 OP: I'm in the same boat as you, ready to buy. Personally, I've decided to wait for the new panels.
