Dunno if you guys saw this or not, but the open beta starts march 1st. Caveat? must be a fileplanet paying subscriber. The fact that theyve even done business with fileplanet makes me not want to play the game at all.

march 1st beta?? i thought the game was out march 20th whether it's ready or not.........

march, may, same basic shit :p

Haha, I guess so.

I am so excited. I paid $50 for a year of fileplanet to get a demo of Crysis; since then File Planet has proven to be a total waste of money, haha. But now I guess that my account will do me some good.

I look at it as sign up for a month, ($7) try the game out and try a few classes out. If it is worth it, buy the game, if not, you only spent $7 instead of $50 to find the game is not for you.

It does feel like a paid beta, but I think it will be fun.

So you can sign up for the open beta for $7at fileplanet?

The open beta is severely limited. You can't go past level 13, which is only a couple hours of playtime and doesn't even get you off of tutorial island (tortage). It is really not worth it at all.

I cant be bothered paying for the beta. Ill just wait for other peoples feedback and make some decisions based on the general consensus. Especially hearing how limited the beta is, Im happy to wait.

Wow, that worked.

That was the most confusing thing, EVER.

I'll explain it for people in the easiest possible way.

So first of all, this promo is only extended to Comcast users who have the 8mbit internet connection speed.

http://help.comcast.net/content/faq/Who-can-access-Game-Invasion

Then, go to your comcast.net account and make sure in your account details you have your "Game Invasion - enabled" there. Note: if you have a secondary account, you can't enable Game Invasion access and your primary has to activate it. Refer to the link I posted earlier.

Then once you make sure you have Game Invasion enabled in your comcast.net account details, go to this link.

http://www.comcast.net/games/invasion/sales/index2.jsp

Scroll down a bit till you see "Already a Comcast 8Mbps Subscriber? Activate your Founders' Club account now!". Click on that link and you'll get to a page which easy instructions to setup your fileplanet subscription.

Once there.. you'll pretty much have the necessities to sign up for the AoC beta and all other downloadable content on there :)

Wow thanks. always wanted a fileplannet sub but i didn't want to pay for it, didnt know i could have it for free just by having comcast till now :p

There are four statuses for key distribution: Confirmed, Coming Soon, open, and Distributed. Confirmed just means that there will be key distribution for that date, Coming Soon means that the keys will be distributed some time within the next hour or so, then shortly afterwards the page opens up to allow you to get a key. Once all the keys are taken, the status moves to Distributed.

I want to jump on this opportunity, but I don't feel like paying 16 bucks for a fileplanet subscription... I really hope they do an open beta (or some free trial) as I'm really interested in this game.

Thanks for the Comcast tip.

Does the tutorial island even have multiplayer or is that the single-player part of the game?

Be sure you have a buttload of hard drive space open. The install files are 12.5 gigabytes and the game requires 25.5 gigabytes on top of that to install.

So what's everyone planning on playing? Since we're gonna be locked at lv 13 in this beta I figured I'd try all the classes. Why not?

I'm looking at barbarian and conquerer. I'll probably try the others just for kicks, but the barbs and conqs interest me the most.

For the official launch I will play whatever the least played class, or will avoid whatever becomes the equivalent to the NE hunter for AoC.

I went ahead and purchased a 3mth subscription. Mehhhh, I just got a new credit card, so i figured, ehh, what the hell.

Its a 12+gig download. I JUST NOW finished the download. It took 22+hours to complete the download, WITH FIREWALL OFF!!!!!

The way I see it is, is this is a good chance to try out the game before it hits the shelves so I can determine if Its a game worth the investment of buying the full version. I remember wayyyy back when Asherons Call 2 beta came out, you had to buy a special PC gamer magazine to get the beta disc. I had played AC original and liked it alot, so of course, I jumped on the oppurtunity to get into the beta for the 2nd one.....I sure am glad I did too, cause the game freakin SUCKED. Had I bought the game and THEN found it sucked, I would have been pissed, but since I got to try out the beta, I never had to waste the money on the full version.

Was worth it to me.

Expect Ranger to be the most played class.

I'm going to play Tempest of Set myself.

Haha yeah. It dominated my 150gb raptor :(

Yeah I'll have to get a new HDD to play the game, I don't have room for it with all of my other crap and I really don't think it warrants removing things like my Steam folder, porn, etc.

I dunno about rangers. They got adjusted pretty fast during the PvP beta (due to a bug Funcom says) so they do less damage than they originally did. I'm actually see a lot of people wanting to play the Tempest of Set since they do crazy damage for a healer class. I normally play healers but if they become too popular I may need to find something else.

The only reason why I'm saying we'll see a large number of Rangers is based off of what I saw in WoW.

I've never played a FunCom developed game so I don't know how they do balance passes but I hope we don't see any dramatic changes with classes.

I for one cannot wait until May 17th.

A 25 gig install? Jumpin jackrabbits!

I only have a 74 gb raptor!!! Crap. I guess Tiger Woods 08 is getting uninstalled.

Who would have thought that a 74gb drive would only let you have 2 games installed? lol

Cod4 is the other. Already up to 10gb. Music is the rest.

Can anyone do a quick and dirty summary of the classes and there main specialty. Like aoe damage, dmg/healer, tank, ect?

You have Priests, Soldiers, Rogues, and Mages.

If you have time, go here and read up on the classes. This will explain each class better rather than a quick, short, synopsis.
