A64 OC Database & Overclock Guide

So i decided to try out my "dead" NF4 Ultra-D... works fine after a bios flash.

i now can dual prime at 2.6ghz, 1.65v :D

i keep it at 2.5, 1.55v. My A8N could never keep it at 2.5, Im pretty happy.

Heres mine:

AMD 64 Venice 3200
ADA3200DAA4BW
LBBWE 0552 BPCW

Running at 2400 stable on air with stock heatsink, at only 1.45v. Temp in mid 40s at the most. Cant do much prime95, but it works great for everything else, including games and video encoding.

AMD OPTERON 146

CABYE 0540FPMW
3000Mhz (10X300 1:1) 1.45v w/Zalman CNPS9500

Hey, I'm in the process of overclocking my Athlon 64 3200+ but I noticed that it tops out at around 2474 Ghz with a VCore of about 1.5v, however after running Prime95 for half an hour it was only at 43C. I've seen a few other people here upping the voltage and I was wondering if it was really an issue if the temperature doesn't break past the upper fifties under full load? I realize it will shorten the life span of the CPU, but I'm going to be getting a new one within a year at the most.

Hehe, changed some ram settings, now running at 2500 stable on air at 1.5v.
stable through some 8 hours of prime95, so i declared it a successful OC.

CCB1E 0550VPMW

all tests memory at 2.5-3-3-6 1t on a 166 div (at 300 on the FSB the mem hits 250 on the nose, which is my goal..)

dual prime stable 2730 @ default vcore

I burned in at 2700 actually, then tried 2730... I bet 2750 would have worked also..

anyways.. got bored and went for 2800.. had to bump the vcore to 1.35 + 104%

after that tried 2840 and core0 bombed after 10 mins.. so bumped vcore by 0.025v and am now past 2 hours at 2850! (with 1.376 vcore)

EDIT: piss fuck shit ball-licker!! core0 failed at 2850 2.5 hours into the test.. backed down to 2830 and it's was going strong for 8 hours when I left the house this morning.. I hope it's still doing just that. :)

burning this chip in really seems to have helped... like a good wine.. needs to breath a little for full flavor. ;) it appears to be scaling much better with vcore than my 175 (ccbwe 0550upmw) did also.. but running warmer on less vcore... it's hitting 43c right now.. whew.. anyways.. I am hoping to make 3ghz 24/7 gaming stable... I hope I hope I hope. just taking it slow and easy for now..

EDIT: ok, 2830 went for 20 hours no problems. Upped the vcore by 0.025 and am now dual priming at 2870! fingers X'd.

Update: had to back down to 2860 because core0 bombed about 4 hours into the prime @ 2870.. So I should be able to reach 2.9ghz with 1.425 + 104% easy.. I reckon.. I also happened to throw on my UV lamps last night and noticed, to my horror, that there are large globs of the UV reactant stuff in my tubing.. I can only imagine what is stuck in the milled areas of my waterblocks.. Apogee especially, because of the fine mesh cross cutting, those areas are prolly full of that crud.. the Mazes are likely ok, they have less areas for that stuff to collect.. anyways.. when my Expert board gets in, it's time for a big overhaul.. and I am NEVER using UV reatant crap in my cooling lines again.. I am going to get some UV reacting tubing.

Hardware Details:
Mainboard: DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D
CPU: Opteron 165 (as above)
Memory: 2x256 OCZ DDR533 @ 2.8v, 3-4-4-8 timings
Video: eVGA 7600GT PCIe, stock speeds

Tested maximums (exhaustive Prime95 x2 and Memtest runs):
Max HTT: 2500Mhz (5x250 FSB)
Max FSB: 268Mhz
Max MEM: 300Mhz (DDR600) @ 3-4-4-8 timings and 2.8v
Max CPU: 2356Mhz (261Mhz x9)
PCIe: 120Mhz (Haven't pushed it any higher)

For some reason, my memory will not even run at it's rated speed when I overclock. I *SHOULD* be able to run the following and be stable, but the boot won't even get to the "Verifying DMI pool data" - the machine just reboots.

Should work at (but doesn't):
FSB: 257Mhz
HTT multiplier: 4x
CPU multiplier: 9x
Mem:CPU ratio: 7:6 (putting memory at 299Mhz)

What DOES work:
FSB: 260Mhz
HTT multiplier: 5x
CPU multiplier: 9x
Mem:CPU ratio: 9:10 (putting memory at 234Mhz - WAY underclocked)

Does anyone know why I can't run my memory at it's full potential?

Also, does that FSB max look a little low?

OSA165DAA6CD
CCB1E 0609FPMW

Stable at 334MHz x 9 for like 15+ hours. Haven't tried any higher yet.

Cooled on water. 1.55v reads as 1.53v in SmartGuardian.

Hey (cf)Eclipse, I'm back to OCing again...

Been outa the loop for a bit due to getting a new house and all... But right now i would like to report that the 3700 i have is still OCed to the same speed... but tighter timmings and a lower voltage...

Here is a pic...

314x9.jpg

Also i have a Venice 3000+ i have OCed to 2743mhz and i am currently running prime and super PI.... So far so good... Stable for over 13 hours so far and Super PI has passed the 32meg test 3 times...

I don't remember the steppings on this chip... but i will find out probably this weekend for you...Also this is on AIR to... i was amazed myself on the OC....almost 1ghz OC....Can't quite get the 2.8ghz outa it...

Voltage is 1.68V ;)

Here is a pic of the Venice... Been running prime for 6 hours. Going to let it go for the night. :D

pretty sure i'm maxed on this ram now. I am very very suprised at how well this ram held up. I might try putting in my ocz micron and see how well it does.

This paticular board has no vcore or vdimm adjustment that I see. Does have a decent memory timing section. go go sempron

EDITED:

Well tried my ocz micron and didnt make it anywhere near 2584 stable. Hopefully thats just an indication of how crappy this mb is. So lets stick with 2584 as max oc on this config.
what IS the maximum oc? ;)

finally got the database updated. new pics should be up in like 10 min or so. it's been what.. 3 months now?
next time i gotta find a better way to do this

Been Tweaking my Sempron a lot lately, pushing it every so farther, but i think i've hit the limit now (stable limit) on the Stock Heat Sink and Fan. It's Idling at about 48 degree celsius and i'm afraid of pushing it any hotter at this point.

So, the info you need

Unless I break down and get an aftermarket HSF, this will be the final overclock. :D

well after much debate and since i want a new chip i chose to raise core voltage and finally got things stable at 1.6v and it runs prime 95 for 8 hours with no errors. It gets hot thought stays between 55-60 on stock air any suggestions for a heatsink? or can u see anything stupid that I'm doing?

1.6v is a bit high to be running on air (to me anyways)

couple good heatsinks would be the Thermalrite XP-120 or the Thermaltake Big Typhoon

4) 1.350v +200mv

The actual voltage supplied ends up as 1.488-1.504V and not 1.55, load temps are 53C while idle nets about 35-37C(currently the mobo temp sensor says 30c and the cpu sensor 51c). Mind that this computer is nearly silent as well ;)
Current uptime while running 2 instances of Prime95 is 5 days and 22 hours, since about 48 hours it's also been running Stress Prime 2004 v40, so it should be stable now ;)
Mobo is the ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe

Got two Venice cores in two other machines, maybe gonna push them a little later ;) Previous Winchester 3000+ reached 2350Mhz at stock voltage with stock cooling.

Piccie goodness:

how come there is only one o/c result of Venice 3800+'s.. i would think there would be atleast a few more, and if anyone out there has some o/c results of Venice 3800+ i would love to hear your about it..

Not finished fine-tuning the specs but here is the (almost) final settings on my Venice 3000+ s754 :

1- ADA3000AIK4BX
2- CBBWE 0611FAE
3- 2600 MHz (Gain of 600 MHz)
4- 1.600v from CPU-Z 1.34.1
5- AMD Heatpipe HSF (rectangular base, not H shaped), swapped the 70mm fan with a 80mm Panaflo M1A held by some wires.

Right now, with AS5, it is hovering at a max of 54C under full load and prime95 stable for 25 hours. 3x HTT, 289 MHz FSB, RAM set to 133 MHz (CPU/14 divider).

just got my new 3000+ in:

ADA 3000 DAA4BW
NBBWE 0611EPFW

some serial #

will install this Weekend and see how it runs :)

1- ada3800daa4bw (Venice 3800+)
2- lbbwe 0528dpbw (q339432g50977)
3- 2808 MHz (Gain of 408 MHz)
4- 1.66v
5- zalman 9500 44c @ load

stable, ran 12 hrs of prime.

Could get some more out of her but am content, also have other things to spend time on.

Got a watercooled X2 4400 that'll top the current list: :D
2750MHz prime stable for 7 hours

[PS]--> Thanks for putting this tight database together eclipse!!

This is what I've gotten so far out of my 3200+ still at 40C idle and 45C full load on air.

I can't seem to find out what the voltage of my RAM is. I'd like to know before I start turning it up. Corsair doesn't say and neither does Newegg. Any ideas?

check it in your BIOS. Should be under your OC profile. Also try playing with your multiplier and HTT to get that clock a bit higher at that voltage.

It's stock at 1.4V VCore, so I've upped it quite a bit already. I don't see my DDR current voltage in BIOS. It's set to stock but I don't know what it is currently set at. My multiplier doesn't go above 10x on this board, but I can try the HTT. It only changes in full X positions. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Auto. Heading out of town this weekend, so I won't have a chance to play with it. Much better from the AI Overclock of 10%. Got me from 2.0G to 2.2G. Stock I run the CSS Stress Test at 136 FPS. I ran it last night at 164 FPS. I could get nothing more and be pretty happy. But hey, if you're not on the edge you better be over it!

i got the opteron 165 Denmark few days ago from newegg for $160,

Check my sig. I could probably get it stable at 2.6 with a bit of time. It'll boot with stock volts @ 2.7 but fails prime95 after a couple of minutes. I'm running the fan on the ninja at 50% to keep it quiet, and temps are 47-50 while folding (ambient temp is pretty high, I like a toasty room.)

edit: I'm running 300 fsb, 8.5 divider. memory is generic ddr400@cas2.

Ive hit 273x11, 3GHz on this x2 4400+ unstable tho. with 1.40v

Backed it down to 265x11, with 1.40v stable, prime tested 10hrs+

I didnt get a chance to write down my numbers on my cpu tho.
