That's the difference between smaller and wider gamut. Thanks Bwaze. I did try setting the monitor to sRGB, but man, the colors were really muted and lacking contrast. I'll have to pick up some calibration hardware soon.

Sorry Mav, no CRT here.

Hi
@asodamiac
what about Rev.? u've got Rev. A00? can u check it?
thx
Hrmm, alternative is a known fast 19" TN panel. E.g. Vx922.
Back in wider gamut colour mode? The only thing that is really bothering me is the wider color gamut. While landscape photos do look quite punchier and more saturated with this monitor, portrait images tend to produce very red skin tones.
Yep, lag of display is only one link in chain of lags where slowest part is sitting on chair in front of the monitor.I have a CRT, I'll try testing input lag when I get mine in. I've heard that input lag doesn't really matter though.

You should use colour aware software for handling photos.

just hooked mine up
what settings are you guys using?
this thing is fucking bright!!!
I havent changed any of the settings other than the brightness setting down to 30.
mine is at 10 and it's still too bright for me
Haven't seen any input lag numbers in this thread...how is it?
If no one has answered these by Wednesday evening (given no shipping annoyances), I should be able to do so versus my Diamond Pro CRT.Has any of you owners of 2408WFP checked how good is black level compared to CRT in dimly light room?
(with brightness/contrast adjusted to that environment but so that dark/bright shades don't start disappearing)
can anyone compare blackcrush of the 2408 to both another VA monitor and an IPS monitor?
Then it's better to set monitor to sRGB mode while surfing... Some web pages (and ads) have such horrible colours, no matter what monitor (maybe except monochromatic), that I wouldn't want them to be still more saturated. However, when viewing in an internet browser, the colors will not be reproduced as I edited them. Even when I view other photos, I don't want to save each file and then open them up in photoshop. That would be a hassle
blackcrush is typical for VA monitorsSorry, but what exactly is "blackcrush" ?
I just placed my order for a new 2408wfp by phone to Dell Canada. It has been suggested in earlier posts that as of Feb 22nd. Dell's has a new 0 dead pixel guarentee, however my Dell rep said this is not the case and they would not replace unless it had 6+. I'm wondering who is right? Any thoughts?
