I wouldn't spend a dime on a reference heatsink 4890.
Seriously that piece of plastic was crap on the 4870, I can only imagine it on the 4890.
Hell yes this is what I want to see. Now push it higher . Also, are there any voltage options in Rivatuner? I'm curious if it uses the same controller chip as the 4870s. Great card though, congrats, 950 already .I am running one right now at 950/1000 no problems whatsoever. Open-air bench though. I will probably get around to putting it in a case when the excitement wears off
I will update if/when I get better results. Literally just plugged it in and set it to 950/1000 right out of the gate.
Can we not get a couple of standard benches for comparison here? 2 people have these things on our fourms already and not a single FPS figure? Is it really that much faster than a 4870? Put the rumors to rest!

It's already been made. All they have to do is make the cards like the Sapphire HD 4870 1Gb Toxic. Very quiet and control load temps extremely well.
hmmm looks like when you up the res. you still got the same fps in crysis if not better
I've heard rumors that the 4890 has additional heatpipes, runs at 50c under load (assuming stock) but sounds like a "jumbo jet" if the fans are cranked past 50%. Not sure where I saw the mention of more heatpipes. Not in that article ...I wouldn't spend a dime on a reference heatsink 4890.

Well 64-bit lets you use all of your ram. You only have about 2ish gigs going for you know with that 1GB 4890. It could easily impact game performance.
Thank you for the bench marks though!
Could you try setting the 4890 to the clocks of the 4870? Just to see if there is any difference in the performance at all.
Can you do assault level on the original crysis benchmark (not warhead)? I have a bunch of numbers/stats from benching my gtx 280 @ 738/1512/1246.
Some benches....

read a quick review here, they saying it's only 6%-9% faster than a 4870, no OC results and, the GTX275 looks way better on the other hand. http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=819
Sure, what settings/res would you like?
Your too CPU bound with this title. Here's my 4870 1GB @ 850/975 with Q9300 @ 3.45GHz.

You're right. My CPU is definitely a bottleneck. Anyone know how to properly OC a phenom 9850 on a DFI 790FXB-M2RSH? It's really driving me up the wall.
Is that board a 750sb or the older 650sb?
I know there is a decent difference in how they overclock, sadly.
Yeah...total d*ck tease!
