Help
I've been in love with my X-Fi for 7 years now with my Logitech Z5500 setup but decided to get on windows 10 which at moment only has none creative driver support which is OK but sounds no where as good as original. My new board maximus viii hero has a supreme fx that has all kind of features but is still a onboard option. At this point in time should I try that ? Or will there be other win 10 options. I don't use headphones

There were no Windows 10 drivers for many Creative cards after Windows 10 was released. Within less than a month of Windows 10 release, all of those cards had a driver:

Is this your card?

Hello cyclone3d Itried the Daniel_K's driver pack for My X-Fi. and the sound did work but would make alot of wireds sounds when I moved files on windows 10 but thank you for the recommendation.

I have the x-fi titanium fatal1ty pro so I went and downloaded the new XFTI_PCDRV_2_40_0011 driver and then the Creative Console Launcher (Beta) 2.61.49
and so far the sound is working. Thank you for the help.

Ultimately both ideas work and bring sound back , just a slight not as good as originally on windows 7. Card is 7 years old so im not complaining Im sure creative will have a new design out soon to take advantages on the new changes under the hood of windows 10.

Uh...I used 8.1 drivers for my x-fi in Win10 and didn't notice a single difference in sound quality when I was on 8.1.

Bx5a here.

There is nothing about Windows 10 that should make sound quality any worse than it was on 7 or 8.1. Assuming that you have drivers that work, It really comes down to the hardware on the card.

Sounds like electrical interference IMO. It's not uncommon, and is a reason why many have moved to external DACs (to isolate the Digital to Analog conversion from interference). That said, you can often reduce or eliminate the interference by changing the slot the card is in (the farther from other major components, like the GPU, the better) and/or moving other components & wires farther from the sound card. Ultimately however, there is only so much you can do.
