Oh god what a putz.
I have a 1080Ti that I paid a fortune for. I won't be buying a new card for years. But when I do, if performance is similar, this type of immaturity is what would make me go AMD.
That's what it is - immaturity. You can speak about your competition with indiference, even...
Thanks. My case doesn't support a spinning HD at this point, so I'd have to get a non-NVME SSD. I assume that with the larger size, having an integral "heat sink" that is the case... That it would likely handle the task easily.
That said right now my two case fans are at max - one pointed...
I'm a little bewildered.
My SSD temps seem to be causing instability. At reasonable case fan speeds, it seems to be related to my video card putting out heat nearby. Setting a manual GPU fan speed seems to help quite a bit. (I have 3 case fans and 2 AIO fans, so I'm not yet sure there is NOT...
I am using HWINFO.
Can you give me an idea of the SSD temp that is under the chipset cooler? And your PCH temp as well? (As I assume that's measured in the same area and would be a good indicator of the temp rise I could use versus my situation)
I was thinking of that corsair fan but would...
I'm using the DIMM.2 riser... Not the chipset cooler.
Debating moving it under the chipset cooler, but my 2TB 960 Pro is rather expensive and if something goes wrong, I'd prefer not to have hassles with Samsung on the warranty with that thermal pad. (Not sure if it would come off well)
Right...
Anyone using nvme with this board?
Having trouble getting good temps in the DIMM.2 location. Have pretty good case ventilation - just that area has a lot of impediments to good airflow.
Can you point me in the right direction so as the card is defaulted to 180w by default? I mean if I put it in my startup folder, it won't run as an admin without confirmation... Win10 isn't exactly convenient with respect to running things as admin without that prompt.
Any wisdom for me...
Hey does anyone have any suggestions on how to take the top off the modu-vent?
I got the whole assembly off the top of the case, but the manual is COMPLETELY USELESS in explaining how to separate the metal part from the moduvent filter and "register". I don't want to break it.
I really didn't want to take the top cover off... For noise concerns and for dust. (my current case gets a lot of dust of course on the top of it. Easy to clean it off when you just wipe it)
But I may have to move my AIO to the top to improve airflow... And get my 960 pro temperature down...
The cycling is about ever 25-30 seconds...
Fan Xpert is allowing me to apply fan smoothing.
Which I don't quite follow what it's doing - but it's doing something. It may be doing hysteresis. Fan Xpert is far from perfect, lags on my system bad... But it may give me my sanity back.
I should...
I tried downloading speedfan but it didn't recognize my sensors and didn't have an existing config for it.
Strangely the oscillations seem to have quieted down. Still there, maybe a little less since I don't hear the fans spinning up and down.
I'll have to try to play more with SpeedFan...
