The fresh install had no AV. Two computers run NOD32, one runs Avira, and another had MSE. I'm an IT pro of 10 years, while I can't completely rule it out, I don't think it's a virus.
I got a new SSD on Friday and installed Windows 7. Only the hard drive was new, the rest of the parts were already together and working great.
Installation went without a hitch until I tried to install Firefox. Used IE to download and when executed it said the file was corrupt.
I tried...
I've never owned an audio receiver before, but I have two general ideas about how the sound is transmitted:
1- the device (cable box for example) is connected to the receiver and then the video is transmitted from the receiver to the TV, this is HDMI pass-through.
2- the device is connected to...
I've been 32-bit for a very long time.
I just build a new system with 64bit Windows 7 at work and need to install the Exchange 2003 & Server admin tools.
Does anyone here do the same? Are there 64bit versions available?
Have you had any other issues with 64bit management station in a 32bit...
I'm going to call FUD on this, there is no substitute for TRIM.
SSDs without TRIM (this includes drives as part of a RAID array) with degrade in performance over time.
edit: Garbage Collection would be an exception, but few drives have this.
-edit: "support" in my world simply means it uses...
I haven't seen anyone mention the lack of TRIM in raid mode.
Does the garbage collection work in RAID mode?
I would think that would be a major deciding factor.
there is no direct migration path from XP to 7.
The Transfer Wizard works very well though.
Another option is to upgrade XP to Vista, and upgrade Vista to 7, but that's a little risky and a lot sloppy.
If Outlook connects to an Exchange server, it'll be a little more involved.
Otherwise, the PST is what holds all the mail & contacts, etc.
The account settings are stored in the registry, it would probably be easier to redo those manually like Deacon says.
