Sounds fishy, unless of coarse they are gonna have the card released soon, or you got some l33t contacts in the industry :D

Although those specs sound reasonable, although i would have hoped for a 480SP config, at those clock speeds.

Well it's one of the benefits of living closer to ATI HQ :p

anyway, I picked up 5850 from this guy, which also was an unreleased card using a different HSF(much cooler and quieter then reference)

Picked it up tonight I guess I'll get the exact specs when I plug it in app gpuz detects it fine pics when I get on my main pc later !

Wow, put it in your main pc and do a few benchmarks. Or even better do a few benchmarks on your HTPC with the 4770 and then the 5670.

400SP? That's less the the 640 the 4770 has!?

Unless if there is a new way of counting SP already?

The 4670 has 320, just for reference.

Looking forward to the pictures of this 5650 you speak of.
Very interested in seeing the HSF of that 5850 if possible as well.

Post full review since you aren't under NDA, then eBay it for profit to a review site!

I returned the 5850 and got a 5970 instead, it too has a slightly different cooler, though I do have an OK pic of the 5850, the cooler looks more like the 4890, but solid copper for the actual gpu heatsink

Thanks for the pics!
That 5850 cooler must've been a stock part from a 4890 before the 5850 production coolers were available.

I'm sure I speak for everyone interested when I say. We need benches for the 5670 now! :D

Hmm, no more EyeFinity...

Also, looking at complexity of components, looks like it's 50, maybe 55 watts max. Yum!

it's a 5670! working on it ><

Hmmm, 400sp sounds nice for the 5670. That's %25 more sp, plus I'm sure the clock will get a boost. Then add in proper memory bandwidth, and this sucker should be about %40-50 faster than the 4670, while probably consuming 30-40w peak.

That would kick the crap out of the GT 240. I like it :)

AMD's year old products kick the crap out of the GT240 already and are cheaper to boot, that is no big feat. I'm more interested in the power envelope of this card and if it can pass full HD audio over HDMI (the 4650 has issues with this), if it can this is one sweet HTPC card.

On the 5670 run 3dmark 06 and vantage if you have it, and pretty much any modern game that has benchmarks, mostly crysis, RE5, and anything else.

ok benchmarks will come tomorrow! The drivers are not being friendly and the new ones that I need are being uploaded 0.0 so I'll give it another crack tomorrow!

so far GPUZ reports 1GB GDDR5 @ 100mhz 128bit, and 400SP @ 775mhz but some other info is inaccurate since no drivers yet :p

I'm assuming you meant 1000 MHz GDDR5 there, which would mean a data rate off 4.0 GT/s (twice that of the 4670).

That 775 MHz clock speed is a little less aggressive than I thought it might be (4670 runs at 750 MHz), so I'll revise my expectations: should be %30-40 faster than a 4670.

Yes sorry I meant to say 1000mhz, but the interesting thing I saw on GPU z was the textured fill rate was higher then a 4770, not sure if this is correct as the drivers were not installed. guess we'll see soon.

They may of gone with a narrower amount of shader processors, but kept a higher amount of rops/texture units, so that it can push the pixels needed for most games, just not the shader effects.

So it may have a core config more like a slighly scaled up 4670, instead of keeping shader heavy like the 4770 and the 4800 series.

as a guess then : 16 ROP, 40 texture units, 400 shaders(40x10).
128-bit bus, 512mb gddr5(850-1ghz clock rate)

Clocked at 775, probably pretty conservative, wouldn't doubt it could hit 1ghz on air.

Those are guess's however...

well it's 1GB of GDDR5 @ 128bit @ 1ghz

Either way, it will be a rather nice HTPC card for those who want to do some light/medium gaming on the system.

I finaly got the drivers last nite and got it working :) GPUZ is up and will benchmark when I get home from work

looks like it's a 16ROP part

I want the 5670 to replace my 9600GSO if its better.

I'm not sure how good a 9600GSO is, but good chance this could be better :p

Anyway 2 things came to mind, the textured fill rate again and CCC is limited to 825 on the core, so I'm going to run the benchmarks first @ stock, then see if Afterburner works :p

This is complete speculation but with the way the cards have been stacking up performance wise, it might be around a 4850-ish. That would be an ok upgrade from a GSO.

I don't think it will be able to compete with the 4770 / 4850

it has half the shader power of the 4850 for starters and 240 less then the 4770 with similar specs in the other areas
