Z-5500 are near-field speakers so placing the surround speakers that far back might give you less than an optimal soundstage but you can try adjusting/increasing the volume level for the surround speakers. The only way to find out is to try it.
The front and surround speakers are identical btw.
<<In FB2K, do you have any resampling DSP's loaded? Probably not, but interested in you checking anyway.
No DSPs loaded, just the plain volume controller.
So I guess that X-fi xtrememusic/fatality cards "might" start to clipp/distort depending on sample/music if the master volume is...
I've tested the infamous udial sample and I get "sirens" when playing the sample via foobar with the volume and wave level at max. If I decrease the master volume level to about 75% the "sirens" go away and I hear only the dialtones although in game mode I can also hear/feel a very high pitch...
Beyerdynamic is also very nice. I have the DT770 Pro/80 and these are excellent for both music and games. I get a more pleasant soundstage from these than my Sennheiser 280HD Pro and better quality. The plastic headbands on the senns has started to crack, less than 1 year old.
Well if you don't know how to properly setup a system you'll get "boomy" bass regardless if it is logitech, klipsch or any other pc speaker system. Just my 2c.
I managed to locate logitech's forum (why only via US site?) and there does not seem to be any extension cable available to purchase and VGA cables do not work either...
I think it is very limiting to have such a short control center cable since placing the sub is one of the most important...
My current table placement is not really optimal for my sub, it is not located near any corner or wall. It's about 3-3.5 feet/1.2m from the nearest wall. The bass feels a little light, I'm using only 2 bars. Increasing it makes it feel more "boomy" so I moved it to a corner and it was much...
I have CnQ enabled and got a performance increase when I applied the patch with the registry entry.
I got a 100 points increase when running 3DMark05 by just appling the patch using 81.84 drivers.
Never had a problem before the patch with any games though.
Much better comparison of BF2 here: http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=172&type=expert&pid=19
1800XT's 512MB memory is making a difference compared to GTX' 256MB at those high resolutions and AAxAF settings.
s&m is a great tool to stress and heat up your cpu and memory. Much better than prime95 that everyone seem to like.

maxTcase (cpu heatspreader temp) seems to be the maximum ambient temps recommended
for a cpu to operate in, like in a desert environment not core cpu temps?
The X2 processors are specified to handle up to 65c without any problem so 52c at load is OK. No need to worry. If you want to lower the cpu temps further at load make sure that you have a good airflow in your case and that the system/case has low temps because that will affect how cool your cpu...
I'm for the most happy with it. It rocks when surfing the web, reading email and playing games. No eye strain compared to my Philips 22" CRT. Love PiP.
However watching DVD and HDWMV movies is somewhat disappointing, the picture quality is not bad but not as good as a CRT. There's banding...
I have a Sonata II case with a X2 4400+ and get around 38C idle temps using both low 1700 and high 2750 rpm setting on the zalman with AS5. The system/case temp is 39-40C. The back case fan is an Antec tricool fan at lowest setting running around 1200rpm/39 CFM, I also have an Adda 120mm...
