I think the deciding factor is compatibility. If all of what you need to run works on 64 bit what's the reason to stick to 32? The question is not "why 64 bit?"...its "why not 64 bit?"

What error are you getting? If you have automatic reboot on BSOD turn it off and post the error if it happens again.
