No problems at all here running ATI Tv Wonder 550 on Vista 64 bit. I did have sporadic problems with tv freeze up until I went with Catalyst 8.5 which had a fix for that.
I think Fedx has gone to hell in a handbasket, after they started subbing out to private contractors. I have had nothing but problems with them and DHL. Nothing but UPS for me now, if I have a choice.
I noticed that at Home Depot, where I work in the electrical dept., we just got some 15' HDMI 1.3 cables for around $15. I was amazed. Just may buy one and see how it works. I can give you all the SKU if anyone is interested.
I have an ATI 550 theater pro, cost me around $50 at the time. Couldn't be better with Vista 64. I think the 650 is only available now, but this is as good as it gets for the money. They come in PCI, and PCI E...
Ok, clearing my cache, and setting to 255mb did the trick! Should have known.
The reason I don't like the auto reload, is because some of the forums I visit move at a very high rate of speed. For example if I look at a page and see 2 threads I am interested in, by the time I read one, and hit...
I am running Firefox 2.0 and just yesterday, all of a sudden, whenever I hit my back button the previous page automatically refloads. Never before did this. I rebooted my machine and it was fine for a short period of time, and then started reloading pages again.
Am I missing something in the...
Sounds like a heat problem. What are your CPU and GPU temps?
My experience with power strips is, they either work or they don't. And when they don't, some have a mini breaker that needs to be reset. However just because they are working, doesn't really mean they are providing optimum...
Yes seems to be a problem with core temps on the Brisbane, I go by TMPIN0 in CPUID. The core temps are totally inaccurate when they show lower temps than ambient, which I find frequently.
Thanks Cork, I think I will leave well enough alone for now, my temps are not really that bad. In fact, a lot better than what I have read from others. Can't go wrong for $20 and free shipping when it went on sale.
I to am impressed with this cooler
Cork1, I have the Arctic 64 with the same 5000BE, and my temps are higher. I had a bit of a problem installing the heatsink due to the tight space and my noobish, and spread the compund around a bit too much maybe, running 3.0 at 28c to 30c idle, 49C max under load with ambient fairly high...
I have had 2 Liteons, one failed to read dual layers, after a whole ton of DVD burnings, the other is running strong. Just picked up a new Samsung 22x I believe, and it is running very quiet compared to the Liteon. I just love this Samsung so far anyway.
At the price of these drives, I think...
I recently bought an AMD 5000BE CPU, and installed it on my Home Premium 64 bit setup. Everything was fine with the exception of losing my WMC access. So I went ahead and reformatted and installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit OS.
Now the computer will go to sleep, but will not wake up. I lose my USB...
I have the APC BX900R, which is rated at 500 watts, and it works beautifully. Most times I am only drawing 123 watts and at max 180 watts with my AMD 5000BE OC'ed and an ATI 2600.
Is the Hd formatted? If not you may want to format the drive to NTSF, depending on your OS. You will lose all your data after the format, in most cases.
Not sure about the mb, but I recently bought the 5000 black edition for waaaay cheap, and have if oc'ed to 3.0 ghz without hardly breathing, just by raising the CPU multiplier from 13x to 15x in my bios, with an AsusM2A-VM, mb, not known for its oc abilities. I have an ATI 2600XT from a while...
One of the main purposes of a ground is to facilitate the tripping of a circuit breaker in case of a dead fault. If you have a major malfunction of your PSU, the ground will guarantee the breaker to trip, assuming the breaker is good. I don't think a grounding problem would have any bearing on...
I just upgraded my CPU to an AMD 5000 black edition and now WMC is not recognizing my tuner card.
Device manager shows it working. I reinstalled video drivers and system restore, is there anything I can do other than a reformat?
Unknown-One, just got mine today also, what multiplier are you at? I am a total noob at OC. But couldn't pass this up to start my first attempt. My Asus M2A-VM is very limited , and that's why I bought this unit. Hopefully I can do this with this mb.
So what you are saying I may just have to reactivate, and not reformat. And yes, anytime I make an upgrade like this I am prepared for the worst, loss of all data.
I have Vista home premium retail installed now with an AMD 3800 x2. I just received my 5000 black edition and was wondering if I should be prepared for a reformat. I have my important files backed up now but not really as prepared as I should be for a full reformat.
I want to install this...
SC385, it has been my experience that when a very nice deal comes along, one shouldn't hesitate to buy. The date for the promo code expires 6/16 according to the website. Granted better deals may become available as time goes on, but that is the nature of the PC world.
It can go out of stock...
I usually buy Memorex 8x DVD+ DL's at Office Depot when they have them on sale for around $15 for 15 discs. These sales usually come around about every month or so.
I have had very good luck with these Memorex, and the coasters I did have were my own fault.
Just got an email from Newegg for the AMD 5000 black edition CPU for $81.99, with a promo code for $10 off that. This is one smoking hot deal.
BTW I ordered the Arctic 64 cooler for $19.99 before it went up in price for this CPU.
