Well, the 7870 didn't blow my socks off. I decided to suck it up and go for the 7950. It was between XFX and Sapphire, and I went with Sapphire.

Well, I agonized over the card decision for long enough. I ordered the XFX 7870 and the HX750 psu. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a $300 card, and I figure that there's no way of picking a "perfect" card sight unseen. I can always RMA if it's loud, slow, etc. Thanks for the advice.

thanks for the info. the board only has 3 slots, but i suppose that doesn't matter. would running 1 gb of 2700 be that much slower, considering that the 2x512 would also run at 2700?

sorry if this has been discussed before. couldn't find anything with search. how common is it for one side of the 2407 to be lower than the other? is this a problem with the stand, the screen, or the way the 2 connect? is there a fix or is it just luck? thanks

i know exactly how you feel. i'm on the fence with my 2407; keep it and try to ignore its shortcomings (and hope that dell fixes future releases and replaces my monitor) or get another brand entirely. when you spend hundreds on a product you expect the damn thing to work properly.

Just got my A02 today (made in mexico). the fedex just showed up, no call, email or notification. no dead pixels that i can find, just the usual LCD backlighting (no bad bleeding) and vertical gradient issue. horizontally it seems to be fine. bottom line: i know this thing isnt perfect...

my menu has no contrast control. the manual on the cd shows brightness and contrast together, but i can't find it. i wonder if that's the menu for another revision or something. weird.
