I used thick pliers and alot of force, then positioned the bolt in the "B" hole. You need something bigger than needle nose pliers, since they don't give enough leverage. Be careful not to break the hinge, or scratch anything when the bolt eventually comes out.
I decided not to put one in, in order to make the case appear cleaner. The 5th pic down still shows the aluminum square placeholder just above the NH-U12P.
Some updated pics of my setup. I changed out the mobo/cpu/ram, put in a new SSD, and drilled out the hdd cage retention backet. Airflow is so good, I changed my S1 8800gt to passive, idle temps are 52 C. The diagonal symmetry between the PSU and the 5.25" bays really looks great in person. I...
I'd say your current P180 is a little bit more quiet since it uses steel. Yeah, there are filters for the front intake fans and also a filter on the outside bottom of the case where the psu sucks in air from the vents. There's no filter for the top optional 140mm fan, though. It only comes with...
No problem, I was getting impatient waiting for pics too. So I couldn't resist. I was originally thinking of getting the B25F, but the 9F sold me on it's bold front grill. Lot's of positive intake! This case would look pretty slick with the caster wheels, so I'm tempted.

Ordered mine off of Performance-PC's. My only gripe is that the HDD retention plate on the bottom is riveted in, so I'm not able to put my silenced HD enclosure there. It's currently running externally, but I'm planning on moving to an SSD and mounting it in between the...
Why do you have the fans blowing towards the front when there aren't any exhaust fans in the front? Does the perforated front allow enough heat escape?
You could also try enclosing your hard drive in a scythe or nexus HDD enclosure and put it in the 5.25 space. Thereby, doing away with the HDD cage altogether. Then the front 120mm fan can feed the 4870x2 air without anything in the way.
The only mid range next gen gpu comin out is the 4850. Nvidia is supporting the 9600gt for at least 4th Qtr 2008. The 8800gts 512 should still be a good buy though
This Antec PSU is used, but it's in excellent condition. SLI ready (2 x 6-pin). An unused Power Cord is included!

I have an A12 and it doesn't do that. Maybe it has to do with the newer removable mobo design. Are there any metal protrusions from the I/O shield plate keeping it from being completely flush?
I think the fan on your TRUE is backwards, unless you intentionally want the airflow going to the front of the case. In which case I would be sorely incorrect.
Currently fastest card = 9800gx2 and the R700 being similar to 2 3870 x2's is beyond speculation. You have to know how good the RV770 CF is before even mentioning the R700's performance.
Aside from profit margins, I think nvidia chose to stick with the 256 bit interface after learning from ATi's mistake. Going to a 512 bit interface was certainly a big reason why the 2900xt was a hungry inefficient card. By the time ATi realized this, it was probably too late, as the gpu was...
I wouldn't exactly call that a problem. A problem is more like, "I can smell smoke from my video card, is something wrong with it?"
But it could be the amount of RAM you have. Is it 2 gigs or 4?
The S12 version you have is the 1200 rpm sku. There is also an 800 rpm one that is quieter than the P12 and S12 1200rpm. For those that want a silent or near silent setup, the 800 rpm would be the best choice.
But yeah, I agree with you. I have 4 P12's: 2 intake, 1 exhaust, and 1 for my...
Nvidia said they were gonna make the 9800 gx2 more successful than the 7950 gx2... Well that was a big lie. The 7950 gx2 dominated for a good 6 months. The 9800 gx2 will barely last 3 months, and costs a $100 more than the 7950 gx2 did.
Yeah, after a certain number of SP's, clock speed then becomes alot more important. It's similar to how the 7600gt only had half the pipelines of the 7900gt, but much higher clock speed.
If a game like Oblivion struggled on the 7600gt at high settings, it would also struggle a bit on the...
Your CPU is fine. By the time most games are coded for quad core, you'll be using video cards that are at least one generation ahead of a 8800gt. Save up for a GT200 or R700.
Not sure why people keeping dogging AMD/ATi. The 3870 X2 is the FASTEST card available.
The OP is asking for a true step forward, as opposed to a sidestep, and that GPU is without a doubt the RV770 or R700. GDDR5... 55nm... 2nd generation DX10.1... 50% improvement over the 3870 (confirmed...
Wow, some people have really high noise tolerance. A fan with 64 CFM is not going to be silent. A fan with an rpm above 1200 is not going to be silent. Silent is silent. If you don't hear anything, it's probably because your hard drive, video card, psu, case vibrations, or other fans are masking...
8800 Ultra.
Buying Multiple GPU's via 6-way intercross SLiFU is for benchmarking the skill of an ATi or Nvidia driver programmer.
RV770 is where it's at!
Otherway around. The S1 is excellent for passive cooling, the Thermalright HR-03gt is junk when passive. Tons of people on Hardforum are running the S1 passive (myself including). I haven't even seen one person on any forum running an HR-03gt passive... The S1 also has more aluminum fin...
