Hey great, not bad at all for my needs! :)
Just to make sure, would be interested to see more gamma shift pics, various angles & lighting conditions, from other proud (hopefully) BenQ FP241W owners...
How bad is the gamma shift on the BenQ FP241W, VA panel? Does anyone have some pics? Such as http://i.pbase.com/o5/04/606404/1/67386274.bYbv23lc.angles.jpg
Didn't find any detailed discussion about this matter earlier in the thread. Sorry if I've overlooked...
Tried Canada Computers, but it doesn't carry any of the models I'm considering. I have good experiences with NCIX when I used to live in Vancouver. I'll make note of Direct Canada. But preferring Ontario locations first.
Great to hear! Online purchases always make me nervous, but this puts me at ease. I'm thinking about getting one for myself, if I can scrape up the cash...
Ok, I hope this is not too inappropriate or odd, but I would like to SEE this monitor sooo...
Is there anyone here with a BenQ FP241W monitor who lives in the Toronto area (anywhere accessible by TTC, including Markham, etc.) and wouldn't mind if I took a look at it? I'll give you a case of...
Hi all,
I've been researching mid-range monitors ideal for sRGB work (web design / editing for an intensive site) and have narrowed it down to the BenQ FP241W vs. the Samsung 245T.
I've searched through this thread and reviewed all relevant posts. I'm convinced that the BenQ FP241W...
Due to some feedback in other forums, I believe I may have not have clearly outlined nor understood my own requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
To reiterate, my work involves:
website design (Photoshop - web images only)
with basic Flash banners & slideshows
and minor video...
Personally, I won't be using profiled environments, so I need a monitor with ideal sRGB.
You will probably be interested in a discussion occurring in the TFT Central forums: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1224077042
I encourage you to sign up if you haven't already, but if...
No offense intended to those who have contributed their suggestions, but are any of the recommendations so far coming from professional web designers who work solely in sRGB? It would be good if I could find people who actually purchased one of these LCD monitors specifically for sRGB purposes.
Hmmm, Eizo s2431w? Aaaargh, another monitor to add to my list to further confuse my decision.
Edit: Oh, oops, its out of my price range anyway. debaaszelluf, although you can afford the Eizo, have you considered the NEC 2490WUXi? I've done a lot research, and this name pops up...
Thanks for that info! :)
Yup, but it didn't bother me when I checked out the Samsung 275T+, so will prob be ok for me for the 245T as well.
Well, the review went in more depth than what I quoted, and stated that turning cleartype off (or was it on?) dramatically improved the fonts, but they...
Now that I have a little more time, here are some samples of my latest findings re. sRGB for the following monitors:
NEC 2470WNX & BenQ FP241W
Price & specs are ok. NEC 2470 pushes the budget slightly. BenQ 241 is MVA panel, so I'm skeptical. But I'm having trouble finding reviews specific...
Glad to stumble across this post, if I can revive it now... Nektarios, any chance you're still around? I'm wondering what you chose in the end. I'm in a near identical situation, and unfortunately cannot get approval for the NEC 2490 at my office due to budget constraints...
Hi all,
I need a decent LCD monitor for working solely in sRGB colorspace (web design & web video for an intensive site). My employer is paying for it. Unfortunately, I could not get approval for the NEC 2490WUXi. :(
I need something in the CAD$600-800 range. I found these options:
HP...
Hi all,
I need a good monitor for my job: web content management for a fairly intensive site. My work includes Photoshopping of course, some light Flash work (banners / slideshows), and small scale web video editing (Premiere Elements). A $2000+ graphic designers' monitor would be overkill...
