I got mine yesterday, but the screen door effect is really bugging me. Coming from a glossy screen to this is a huge change for me. Any way to overcome this or is this monitor just not for me?
That'd be crazy to get the 880 before a 790. Then again, it seems like the 790 might be vaporware as no real news has come out since the 'leaked' specs in January.
The 690 I bought in May of 2012 has been the single best video card purchase for me. I'm excited if there is to be a 790 as my...
I'm not the true definition of SLI, but the 690 seems to have no issues with g-sync and the newer driver. That single 780 at 200% being smoother than SLI goes to show how awesome and powerful g-sync is. It's like you also get a free performance upgrade for your PC.
Trust me. With g-sync on at 144 it looks great. With g-sync on at 100 it looks great. With g-sync on at 60 it looks great. No difference between them all. Trust me. I used to have a FW900 and was a refresh/framerate whore. G-sync is where it's at.
Rumour mill has it at 144hz now...
Having missed it online, I went in to a local best buy looking for them. My first kit of these fell prey to the mother in law's dog. Fucking bitch, the both of them!
I grabbed a key for a dollar. Much easier to just put it on Origin then to try and find the original box and key from when I first bought it.
Great game still to this day.
I bought some tuniq tx-3 compound from them. For 6 viles of it, shipping was 6 bucks. For 7 it jumped to almost 10. I don't get how shipping nearly doubles for another vile. I'm sure you could fit 6, let alone 7, if not even 12 in the same package.
You don't really notice that it's not refreshing at 144 when it dips in explosions to 80-90. G-sync helps negate any stuttering or tearing that would ordinarily be realized in similar situations without g-sync being enabled.
You really have to see it to believe it.

From the desktop, I put it at 144hz. In game, I set it to 144hz with v-sync off. You know it's working because the frame rate will not go higher than 144.
It's exceptionally smooth. I mean, it's soo fluid, I feel like it's almost broken. I've never gamed like this before, or at least...
I had been running lightboost, so I was already smooth at 120hz/144hz.
The game itself is WAY smoother now since the refresh rate essentially matches the frame rate.
