You don't really lose out on anything with Windows 8 aside from the old start menu, and I think the new one is actually better after using it. The Windws 8 desktop is improved over Windows 7
And yes, you can still press the windows key and type to find things...
1. snap two windows
2. drag...
Thanks NCX. I don't care about input lag or being able to use it with consoles since I'll mostly be using this for coding and graphic design, no games. It's good to know it has a lighter anti-glare coating. sounds like this one might be the best for me
I'd prefer something more glossy and that korean monitor sounds good but I'd rather stick with a more reputable company
How does the HP compare to the Dell UltraSharp U2711 or the Samsung SyncMaster S27A850D? Hard to decide reviews I've read for all 3 are good
Samsung has PLS panel...
Thanks, I had no idea wide gamut could cause such problems. After reading some other articles I agree a standard gamut display will be better for me (I mostly work with web graphics)
I have a Dell 2407 now and looking for something with higher resolution and better colors. From what I've read the Dell U3011 has hella accurate colors and that resolution would be perfect. I won't be gaming so I don't care about response time.
Is there anything better that I should consider...
I got a bunch of these I'd like to sell for $110 each.
It's the full retail version of Office Home and Student 2010 which includes word, excel, powerpoint and onenote. It can be installed on up to 3 PCs.
They have never been opened and are sealed with original shrink wrap.
I will ship for...
WD would have sent the same model too bro. no reason to send a newer one if they still have old ones in stock.
I have 8 1.5s in raid 6. hella sweet bro!
yeah that's what I've been saying. If not for this, driver support wouldn't be nearly as good and people would complain that hardware doesn't work and the OS is unstable - just like what happened with vista.
LOL so you're saying if vista wasn't around it would be just as good as it is now? If there weren't vista drivers then how do you think almost everything would work? Many vista drivers will work on windows 7 because it is a similar OS to vista. When vista was released, there were so many...
if they skipped vista, lots of people would have problems with 7 (or whatever they would have called it) and people would hate it just as much. The only reason there aren't many problems with 7 is because it's so similar to vista, which is already a great OS.
system restore works fine for me. shows restore points back to over a month ago.
and new feature shows which programs are affected by system restore :]
I've had four 7200.11 1.5TB drives for months and haven't had any problems. I just ordered 4 more and I'm going to use them in RAID 6. not worried about them failing.
however I would not be too happy if I ordered .12s and got .11s
