PS3 Owners: Hold Onto Your Netflix Discs

When it was first announced, several sites mentioned that it wouldn't be a download or baked into the firmware until late 2010. http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/netflix-ps3-disc-must-remain-in-system-until-2010-update/ Which would seem to fit with the "and that's the way it's going to...

    RAM Problems? Cooling too Tight?

Could some kind of physical damage cause this? It being intermittent (and lack of knowledge) makes me think something with the board itself is wrong that lets Windows see the memory, but deems it unusable.

    RAM Problems? Cooling too Tight?

As with Xenozx, msconfig is one of the first things I found when I googled "windows 7" 2gb limit http://www.forum.crucial.com/t5/Standard-DRAM-Memory/64bit-Windows-7-says-only-2GB/m-p/1384

nalu chugging on pov ultra, any ideas?

Do you have two monitors running in dualview? If you do, go into the control panel, Perfomance & Quality, make sure Show advanced settings is checked, then try changing Hardware acceleration to single-display mode. When I have it set to anything besides single-display mode, Timbury runs at...

The Official DOOM 3 [H]ardware Guide thread.

    You missed one thing.... AA 6800GT 915 - 1600x1200 2xAA 8xAF - Avg 51.9 925 - 1600x1200 NoAA 8xAF - Avg 55.9 X800XT 915 - 1600x1200 NoAA 8xAF- Avg 50.7 925 - 1600x1200 2xAA 8xAF - Avg 46.3 So, there's no way to know for sure whether DDR 2 causes a performance hit/gain unless the...

    ATI on Doom3 benchmarks

I believe the@ntipop was confusing partial precision with the whole brilinear/trylinear thing.

    ATI on Doom3 benchmarks

Around the time of the 3dmark/cheating/optimizations, I seem to remember quite a few people claiming ATI didn't optimize for individual games and only do things for performance if they have an effect on multiple games. Looks like that's changed as soon as they lost a benchmark by a large margin.

    ATI on Doom3 benchmarks

    1. Doom 3 will be out in just over a week. 2. Other than the fact that they can't take advantage of it, why is it bad that PP is used if the dev wants to and it doesn't change the output? 3. The fruits of the long rumored OpenGL rewrite won't come for quite a while. 1. If ATI's...

    Drive not detected in BIOS

I haven't heard about anything like the problem I'm having, so it's seems rather, weird, to me. In my old system (P3 800, intel 815 chipset), I had a 60gig WD drive, works fine in that system. I built a new system (Athlon XP, nForce2 400) a while ago and bought a new 120gig WD, and hooked up...

A few words about external hard drives

Anyone know if the firewire included as part of the SoundBlaster Audigy2 cards is any better/worse than a separate PCI firewire card?

    BestBuy and their trustability

No, it's not in the District of Columbia, and they certainly have more than one warehouse. In this case, DC stands for Distribution Center.

    BestBuy and their trustability

I'm not Scott of course, but I bought a BFG GeForce4 Ti4200 a little over a year and a half ago and the fan started going out a week or two ago. I didn't have my receipt or any other proof of purchase, so the only thing they could go by is that it was a BFG card. I shipped it to them on a...
