That's a stock 7900 GTX, not the superclocked eVGA 7900 GTX that was reviewed by INQ. The superclocked GTX has higher clocks (duh) and is warrantied by the manufacturer to operate at those speeds so it costs more. Since it took a superclocked GTX to barely match a stock XTX, the INQ pointed out...
So which of these scenarios could it be:
1. MS paid Bethesda a good chunk of change not to add in HDR+AA for the PC version.
2. nVidia had a hand in Bethesda not adding in HDR+AA.
3. Bethesda are incompetant and lazy so they didn't want to take the time in to add HDR+AA.
Well the game isn't stable with any card when alt-tabbing and yes it's true there are grass shadow flickering issues and according to some CF problems as well that should be sorted out in 6.4. That doesn't mean the drivers are nearly as unstable as you made it sound in your other post though -...
This patch just proves Bethesda weren't fully truthful about HDR+AA. They claimed HDR+AA wasn't possible on the PC. Yeah it's not possible on nVidia cards and since Oblivion is a TWIMTBP title, it makes you wonder...
Power consumption isn't a problem for anyone buying a high end card or at least it shouldn't be anyway. Heat output isn't a factor either since it's blown outside the case with the X1900 hsf and as for price and availability, it is more available than nVidia's 7900 cards and costs less.
Look at the OP's post and then look at the prices for 7900 GT/GTX cards, the availability has gone down while the price has gone up. Why is it that the 7800 series, which was uncontested at the time, never ran out of stock yet the 7900 keeps running out despite being on a smaller die? nV fans...
If the 7900 series were being mass produced, availability would be high just as it was with the 7800 series. In fact 7900 stock should theoretically be even higher since it's made on a smaller die - well theoretically anyway. Reality is showing quite the opposite, the 7900 series has been...
Hey brent,
Will you guys start adding newer games to your benchmarks like TimeShift (demo out today), D&D Online, Resident Evil 4, Oblivion etc? I hope you guys diversify games in your testing a bit .
X1900XTX will work with X1900 CF edition and the difference in clock speed makes no impact on performance in CF mode. BTW I think your invoice is wrong - the XT should be 1.1ns but if you're paranoid, then go get the XTX for $25 more.
This is with HQ AF (angle independent) and Adaptive Antialising turned on:

You can throw as many facts as you want at Rollo and Empty but they will just close their eyes, put their thumbs in their butts and go "nah nah nah nVidia roxxors my boxxors" and in Rollo's case keep mentioning how he has SLI (e-penis syndrome). That's ok because I doubt very many people take...
I'm underwhelmed because I want to be? What kind of nonsensical statement is that? I stated exactly why I'm underwhelmed by its performance or lack there of as well as bugs with the gamma correction. Anyway, about the ULI chipset, the facts speak for themselves and it does keep up with the...
ATi made inferior hardware and software compared to nVidia prior to 9700 and nobody thought they'd be a solid competitor. Point is companies do not stay stagnant forever and considering that this particular chipset is being well-received by Anandtech and its performance and features show it to...
You keep calling it cheap junk yet ignore a review by a very respectable site that says otherwise. That's why you have no point and are just frothing at the mouth in a vain attempt to make a point. Anyone that has an iota of common sense can see you and empty have no solid facts about THIS...
You and Rollo keep harping on a very pointless issue: past market share. Like I said, who cares about market share? ULI itself is a new spin-off and this is their new product which is getting a very positive review from Anandtech. It keeps up with an nforce 4 setup and will be a very solid...
Who cares about market share dipshit? It's a brand new product that has been reviewed by Anandtech and given a stamp of approval. You're just grasping at straws as usual.
LOL in another words you got owned after you asked for a link and now you're trying to wiggle out of it by spouting more drivel. I guess the infamous nVidiot troll Rollo knows better than Anandtech now. Take off the little green panties, son. I told you, that trolling doesn't work here at the [H].
ULI is a brand new offshoot company (yes formerly ALI). As for links, here: http://anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2471
Like I said, you're a moron. Your nVidia trolling won't work here at the [H], son.
For now anyway since they haven't paper launched and nobody knows what R520 will be like. But given X850's performance in Xfire, it isn't far fetched to assume the R520 Xfire should be quite a bit faster.
In another words you want advice on how you can steal a 2405? They won't call for it, they'll just bill you and if you don't pay, it goes to collections and kills your credit.
Well when the final retail version is released I bet the numbers will only go up considering this preview used pre-release hardware and drivers. If x850 in xfire can nearly keep up with an expensive 7800 GTX SLI setup, imagine what the R520 in xfire will do. :) I probably won't end up getting a...
It's 2 x850 cards and one of them is the master. This is definitely very promising performance since it nearly keeps up with 7800 GTX SLI so Crossfire should do very well once they iron out these few bugs.
