Thanks,
The 2955 is available as a freebie, and we may start using more IOS at work in the future (even that is not clear yet). So I figured I could learn IOS now. I don't think I will pursue this route.
I like Berky's Idea of separating the networks, specially since I noticed that most...
Corsair is synonymous with quality. It's a formula that worked for them as a RAM manufacturer and it's a formula that continues to work today across all their product lines
I have a structured home network that looks like this:
World
+Cable Modem/Router
+ Wireless-N router, DHCP 1 through 50.
- Work laptop (wireless), VPN once in a while
- Future devices or visitors (wireless, upon request)
+ Allied Telesyn 24-port dummy/un-managed Switch (Wired...
Forget the Zombies, everyone could use a similar kit for camping, let alone an apocalypse situation. But you would only need an axe, a (large) machete and the/a survival knife (assuming everyone already has a pocket knife). Everything else is just gravy.
Ditto,
I want the box to clearly say:
- This Graphics card uses xx Watts, an xxx Watt PSU is the minimum recomended
- This Graphics card operates at xx degrees under normal load and xxx degrees under heavy loads.
I also want something like Tom's Hardware: Plays most current games @ XXX...
My wife never had any issues BUYING things.
My buddy sold an Ipod and he got paid with fake $20 bills, he did not realize until later that day. Yet another way to get screwed.
Looking good there! Have you tested your PSU yet? Them 1U PSUs are loud as heck! Have you considered water-cooling it so you can volt-mod those tiny 40mm fans? (or remove them altogether!)
 Wow, just wow, those letters look amazing!
You must have chilled water on your veins! I could not get such straight cuts/filing/sanding in a million years (unless i used a CNC Milling machine).
Funny dude, but I'd love to have one of those. You know, to get a bit of a workout. After 10 minutes, I get tired and go back to my chair/keyboard/mouse.
I would be surprised if they did not fit. Mobo (brass) stand-offs are a standard part. You could probably go to your local radio shack or some other to see if they have them.
The honeycomb at the bottom of the tire supports the weight of the car, so they get deformed slightly. Since the walls of the honeycomb are always flexing (as the wheel turns), I would expect mud and stuff not to be able to get a grip on the wheel, so it would be thrown off with regular driving.
When a VIA rep hands you the chips and tells you "Here, do whatever you want", you know they know what's going to happen.
Great article. As for me, I would never buy an Atom-based PC/notebook unless it was only for reading email and browsing the internet. Frankly, I was suprised how well...
I think InorganicMatter and Jroe52 hit the nail in the head.
Lack of buttons on the ipod/iphone makes it a challenge to play games on it (but not imposible).
A newer/smaller form-factor for the DS and development of "Applications" (not just games) could breathe new life to the DS and...
Azhar is right. The market for the Atom goes up against the VIA C7 and against embedded chips/aps: Points of Sale/registers, kiosks, ATM machines, eeePC, internet-enabled TVs and Bluray DVD players.
Intel also wants this chip on future i-phones and UMPCs (internet browsing and media...
Lol, that is freaking insane. Looking at Odditory's pics, you might have enough room. There is definitelly enough room for two 2-HDD cases or one 3-HDD case. But what will yo do to get good airflow to your drives?
I am looking forward to your pics!!
Make the "SLI/Crossfire enabled" text black, see if you like it better than grey (I think I would).
And yeah, darker buttons are needed, I refreshed the page 3 times to try different configs before I noticed the buttons.
To keep things simple, i would jump from 10 HDD to 15 HDD to 20... I...
Links are broke, so I cant comment on the Mobo.
This is what I would do:
For your sis, get an 8600GT or 8600GTS. The 7900GS may be more powerful, but the 8600 are DX10 and have hardware decode for watching videos.
Dont get an E6600, get an E6750 for you and an E6550 for your sis, they...
I just looked at shuttle's page for your barebones and it mentions Pentium D/ Pentium 4, it also mentions "Dual Core CPU support" (Pentium D?) but does not mention Core 2.
This is a 945 chipset, some take the Core, some don't, ask Shuttle to make sure.
Core2 Duos have a Thermal envelope...
Anyone know anything about the GA-G33M-DS? The "little brother" to GA-G33M-DS2R
Looks to me that the diferences are:
- No raid
- No all-solid caps (some solid caps and some electrolitic caps, like most boards)
- So far, no BIOS update for 1:1 RAM timing (which should hold back OCing)...
Ryero, here is your answer:
Since you have an E2xx CPU (800MHz bus) and 667MHz memory. You need a 1:1 multiplier to (better) OC, which only the ASUS board has. The Gigabyte board may include it in the future, but it does not have it at the moment. Your best bet is to post in the OC forum...
