Not a problem.

I had posted this over at LR as questions were raised if my pumps were China knock-off fakes. Which they "are not." There is a certain person on eBay and Craig's list selling the fake pumps. Avoid them at all costs. Well, they do cost more than my "real" DDC pumps anyways.


Back in 2005/2006 Laing issued a statement about FAKE DDC pumps made in china as knock offs. These knockoffs would not hold up to the long life like the Laing DDC pumps are capable of. Also, what is known of the fake DDC pumps is that they actually have less flow. Fake 330 l/hr vs the real Laing 380 l/hr. The Fake impeller is a clone of the vertical eheim 1046, but made out of cheaper materials.

As anyone can see in the photo, the internals are 100% clean and never used. The 50K-hr run life is still fully intact.
