its not because they expect too much of their hardware, its because their jealous.
i honestly did not expect this game to work on my system having such an old GPU along with a weak yet OC'd cpu, yet i can play this at an almost decent framerate. i am able to play with all the top settings on...
The HTT is pretty much the FSB. You should have a setting for your ram to change its speed to something like 2/1.83 which means your processor's fsb is a little bit higher than your memorys FSB, so you must raise the HTT till the screen says your memclock is what its supposed to be. it took me...
vote yes and i run at 440/1160 everyday, back before my old PSU fried(got old and used) i was managing 460/1200 for everyday use, but with this new antec one it doesnt like me going above this limit
i had very bad performance with the 71.24 drivers, i hated them, so i gave them to a dude on another forum and he had even worse performance than me :D
after that i switched to 71.20's and they seem to be better(ALOT)
if he's just watching DVD's he should get a 6600, since they got the working video chip in there, video is alot better than any ATI card, i seen a review on it and it showed stairstep edges on stuff like sanfransico rails while there was no stairstepping on the 6600, also had alot of banding on...
well, games will run alot faster and look alot better with the 6600GT, but some games will run like crap still.
also know that with the newer video card you will be able to crank your resolution up higher and raise AA/AF up alot to make the game look even better
i noticed it did the same thing with farcry for me, the max settings werent really max settings, so i went to the configure farcry shortcut and i went threw the advanced settings, noticed everything was on close to lowest settings. just manually select the highest settings, and it should be great
they said the 6800 is the first card out that will be able to play U3 at playable rates.
when a U3 game comes out and it runs like shit, then we get to kill the dude
well, back when the gf3 was top of the line, 800x600 was a great resolution.
so i say 1280x1024 will be max res playable with U3
oh and link http://www.prdfiles.com/xxplosive/unreal3_0002.wmv
the guy wanted to know if it was playable, not if it would be top of the line when unreal 3 comes out :P
the demo still looks amazing, and i will be satisfied if my 6800 will play the game as smooth as the demo was.
gimme 3 minutes and ill have a link up to the demo for those who havent...
well, there is a checkbox in the vid options that says hide modes that this monitor cannot support that if you uncheck will let you select any resolution
i keep chat windows in the other one also, tho when i play axis & allies and command & conquer generals ZH or just about any other RTS i have to disable the second monitor
the reason that card there is faster than 6600's is cause it has more pixel pipelines and IIRC 1 or 2 more vertex pipelines. also has 256 megabit bus width for the mem
stock gt on my system gives me around 4300 in 05, UE speeds i get 5300 :D
also with the .8 version of DCX released, having 30 planes flying around within viewing distance firing homing missles causes quite a bit of vid lag, im not even gonna attempt to play it with stock settings lol
PNY is not a bad company, look at all the cards that they had out before black friday, my card from august could clock to ultra extreme speeds with stock cooling, but i was afraid of running it for more than an hour with it being on air cooling and all :P
ok, someone on another forum is saying that they have 2-4 cored cpus out already, and by 05 there will be 8 cored chips. is he just talking out his ass like i think he is or is there multi core chips out there?
