If you aren't seeing any problems, just go with whichever you prefer. The thinner cable would be easier to route I'd assume.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase your XL2711T?
Thanks CrabJuice
Looks good, although it's still higher than the S2740L

I've read that ghosting is an issue with the S2740L. If you're sensitive to ghosting, you should probably check out the YouTube videos and reviews first.
Another vote for Head First Java. But even the best books can be difficult to follow sometimes if you're a beginner. So just to get started, I'd recommend you watch some tutorials on YouTube. For example, this one appears to be pretty easy to follow, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIaCURrxU00...
It's been a while since my last water cooled rig (used Koolance EXOS system on a AMD 2500+), I recall failing leak testing several times before eventually giving up. Now I'm at again and I was hoping you guys could help me out with my part selection. :)
I'm trying to hit 5.0 GHz (currently...
Having owned both the H100 and D14, I prefer the D14. The H100 pump has a consistent high pitched noise that I find quite irritating. I chose the D14 over the Silver Arrow because of Noctua's better mounting system.
Thanks Evochuck! I was thinking I could use an external DVD drive instead since I don't load up discs very often. From the picture I can't tell if the backside of the DVD drive cage sits flush with the motherboard tray.
After some thought, my other concern was the effectiveness of cooling when...
I am using the 4th expansion slot so that I get a slot in between for air.
I just came across a post on another forum where a member removed the drive cage to fit a pump. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1355425
I am considering getting this case as well but I don't think my pair of triple-slot Matrix 580GTX will fit. I am thinking of permanently removing the drive cage in order to get the video cards to fit (and get better airflow to the cards as well). Has anyone tried this?
Yesterday I was able to get 4.7 GHz @ 1.375v stable in Prime95 small FFTs for 14 hours, but it is too high for my liking. Right now I'm running 4.6 GHz at 1.35v, I think the voltage can go lower at this speed but I haven't tried yet.
I recently purchased a Noctua D14 to replace my Corsair H100 because I couldn't bear the noise produced by the H100 fans on high speed. On low fan speed, the D14 provides much better temperatures on my 2600K.
However, I am not enjoying the appearance of the brown fans. I've searched around...
Thank you all for taking the time to respond to my post! I think I will pass on the warranties considering the motherboard and graphics cards all come with a 3 year manufacturer warranty already.
I recently purchased a bunch of parts and built myself a new rig. My friend working at the store recommended a extended warranty for both the motherboard, graphics cards and speakers. In the product dies within the warranty period, a new replacement (non-refurbished) is given. They also provide...
