Hi all,
I have an ASRock x99 Extreme4 and just installed a Samsung Evo 970 M.2 NVME drive. I installed the Windows drivers so that I see the Samsung controller in Device Manager. I can't seem to suspend to it. The machine never goes to sleep. I didn't have this problem with my SSDs.
I...
Just tried RAM I know is working from my other desktop, no luck as well. Monitor is definitely good. CPU was just replaced and I would hope the EZ Debug light would stick to CPU if it were an issue. I can try PSU, but I'm not hopeful on that one.
Aux power is tightly plugged in. Tried to reduce all cables (e.g., only have the power switch header on). Just tried to clear the bios... no luck with anything
I have an LGA 1151 build with a Kaby Lake 7700k on top of an MSI Intel B250I Pro board.
It lights up and the EZ Debug light for CPU turns on for less than a second and turns off, then the DRAM EZ Debug light turns on for a few seconds and then turns off. No other EZ Debug lights come on (even...
If I pull the CPU out of the socket, the motherboard boots up and stays turned on. Still think I should try a different power supply? I'd have to take apart another computer of mine.
I built a brand new Kaby Lake system with an i7 7700k and an MSI Pro Series Intel B250 LGA 1151.
I installed Ubuntu Server on it, and it was up and running for a week under relatively light load. Tonight, I started using it more heavily by running a few CPU-heavy tasks on it.
All of a sudden...
I have a Corsair case with an H110 and a fan connected to it that has died. I want to remove the fan, but the screw in the back is blocked by the motherboard heatsink and the CPU connector:

Does anyone have any tips on how I could remove this...
Was unable to find a local buyer for this machine, so I'll go ahead and part it out. I will take preference to those buying multiple items (e.g., mobo+cpu+ram).
Everything in full working condition. The components were used to build a "Hackintosh" for myself that I've used for a while now...
eek... so sorry, for some reason I didn't get notifications to these thread responses. I was hoping to get by without parting and do a local sale. If I can't sell locally soon, I'll look to part it out.
bump to try and find a local buyer still....
I really do not want to ship this, so I am hoping that I could find a local buyer in the Boston metro area. Would be willing to meet half way at a slightly further location.
Everything in full working condition. These components support "Hackintosh" builds. I used to run the machine as a...
I'm seeing a lot of mixed responses on the setup of the H110 on the top of a case as being an intake or exhaust. In fact, the 450D picture from Corsair shows liquid cooling in an exhaust pattern, but then their H110 instructions show it in an intake pattern.
The 450D image:
The H110...
Alright, I have no clue what to do about this. I really wanted to get this machine built today, but this might set me back a ton of time.
I had a standoff screw for a Hyper 212 Evo break off in my Asrock X99 mobo. I BARELY APPLIED ANY PRESSURE. The screw must have been weak.
There weren't...
I have 4x8gb of RAM (32gb total). I am trying to figure out how to place it across these 8 slots. I did not want to buy 8x4gb so that I can upgrade to 64gb in the near future.

All on one side? One black one blue on one side, one black one blue on the other side?
I am looking to replace my Lian Li PC65 after many, many years. I actually love the case except for 2 major drawbacks: 1) Zero cable management, 2) A lack of 120mm fan fittings. What I love about it is its size.
I've been doing some searching for its replacement, and I've seen that the...
Looks like there was already a heated discussion on this: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1832996
After reading the entire thread, I'm not sure what to take away as the answer. Basically, they're pretty similar?
There are two batches of memory from G.SKILL that are roughly the same price:
$250 - DDR4 2800 (PC4-22400)
Timing 16-16-16-36
Cas Latency 16
Voltage 1.2V
$240 - DDR4 2666 (PC4-21300)
Timing 15-15-15-35
Cas Latency 15
Voltage 1.2V
Which will have better performance? The slightly higher clock...
Surface Pro 3 owners: is t\it difficult to use on your lap in the way that a laptop would? Is it awkward? Do you find it difficult to sit and work with it? Is it annoying to use in this way? I see a lot of reviews say "it's better to use in your lap than Surface Pro 2", but I still don't know if...
I bought a 10" Asus Transformer Book for my significant other a little while back, and while it is a great little laptop, it's just a bit too small for her to be very productive on. So I am looking to get her something better for Christmas.
Here's what I am looking for:
Price < $500...
I have the same question. I have quite an old system now (Q9550, 4GB of DDR2 RAM) and I am positive I will upgrade to the new Haswell-E (probably 5820k), but I am wondering if I should make this upgrade now or wait until next year (holiday 2015). Is there any good reason to wait? Right now a...
Well... I just returned from a trip to Hawaii where my (first-gen) Nintendo 3DS disappeared on its way home. Don't know if we left it in the hotel, the rental car, or if it was stolen from our luggage. Regardless, I'm down a 3DS and Pokemon X (what was in the DS at the time) :(
Looking to...
I just built a new system with a P8Z77-V. It has an Intel Core i5 processor and I am trying to use the onboard graphics through the DVI port. Unfortunately, I get no output to my Shimian "korean monitor" -- is this because it is not dual-link, or could it be some other issue? I am able to get...
pretty nice bundle, I'll let [L]imey take a shot at it first. I was hoping to spend a little less, as I just lost my 3DS coming back from Hawaii: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/335669-wtb-nintendo-3ds-xl-system-games/ ... sigh
I was going to post a WTB 3DS XL thread, then I saw your thread. Figured if you haven't had luck yet... than neither will I. So take a bump, and good luck.
Looking to expand my RAM on my (now antiquated) machine. I have two 2GB OCZ Platinum PC2 8500 DDR2 sticks in one of my channels. Looking to put two 2GBs in my other channel.
