actually i had both processor at once... and actually had 4 of them 165.. when they were on sale back then on monarchcomputer and people were reselling 165 on this forums for 300+ cause it did would do 3.0ghz on stock volts.. 2 of them did 2.9 on stock and the other 2 actually did 3.0 on stock...

sorry i break that 170 dont break too high of oc barriers.. ive seen most get stuck around 2.7 or so.. while alot of 165 are hitting 3.0ghz easily

get a 165.. and with something like a 9500 zalman cooler and you should be hitting higher then most 170 oced.. consider you got some ddr600 ram

if i were you.. id get the 165... it has better ocing results in the end.. most 170 can break too high.. and even with ddr400.. just run some lower dividers on your ram.. you'll be fine

ok so it was my fault for not knowing how to oc am2 all soo well.. finally got it to run @ 2.8ghz.. but only got pic of it primed at 2.7ghz with 1.4v for 3 1/2 hours with sp2004... my ram was on ddr 533/667 wen ever i oced.. but yeah it was set on ddr 400.. it let me hit up to 312 fbs with 1.425v

hmm i recently got the opeteron 1210... running on an abit an9 board... best i could get it only 230 fbs (2.07ghz) using 1.45v and 1.85v ram... ive got it to boot up running at 250 fbs(2.25ghz) .. but it crashes before i can start any bench mark test.. any one else out there ever bought a...
