    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

Evidently the circuitry used to take the same panel in both WT and WTQ with improved response time for the "Q" can introduce errors that lead to ghosting or even images sticking. Search the anandtech forums as there's some nice discussions of the issue there. Glad I got my WT now as newer lots...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

Just got my LG 226WT (non "Q") and no ghosting at all. There is a bit of top & bottom backlight bleed but overall it's gorgeous, big and bright. BTW, I haven't installed Forte Manager as I'd heard it was buggy...anyone know it that's worked out and worth doing?

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

Seems like the newer release panels are "Q" so I asked the manager at Best Buy what the difference is. He claimed the "Q" is newer and with finer dot pitch, smoother gradients, no negatives. Hype or truth...anyone know?

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

I was at BB today and they had boxed LG 226's galore. 3 of the boxes displayed: "][/URL] 7 others displayed: So is it desirable to avoid the former and buy the latter to avoid the ghosting issue?

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

I just noted that the DVI-D cable I bought to use with a single LG 226WT 22 inch monitor is dual-link. Besides being "overkill" with a single 22 inch LCD, is there any harm or image quality issue from using dual link cable in this way? Vid. card is eVGA 8800GTS 640 mb. I'm still waiting...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

Don't believe the silver version of LG 226 is (yet) marketed in US. BTW, stopped at a Circuit City that had LG 226wt side-by-side with the Samsung 226bw. I've been trying to decide between them so this was a nice comparison opportunity. Brought my wife, who's a graphic artist professional...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

Amazingly, CC in San Francisco had the LG 226wt and samsung 226bw side by side. Overall, both blew the doors off all other displays in the store! I adjusted to comparable settings with OSD and had one hell of a time establishing a preference. No keyboard, so couldn't really check text/wordp...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

I spent some time with the LG 226WT at Best Buy...they let me connect it to a PC rather than the stock rotating images. Having just seen Sammy 226BW ("S") at Circuit City 2 blocks from Best Buy, which was actually connected at DVI, I was expecting the VGA connected LG to take 2nd place...

If I read correctly, viewsonic website lists contrast at 700, thus not really a directly comparable competitor to Samsung 225BW or LG 226WT. I realize there are different ways of measuring contrast, though...what do folks thing the significance of this spec. diffwerence is (obviously real...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I'm also trying to decide between the LG 226WT and Sammy 226BW. Iactually like the styling better on the LG as from pix Sammy looks a little garish, but perhaps the LG is too understated. I appreciate your pix and thoughts. What is your overall impression of which is the superior 22" for...

    1) is your Sammy "A" or "S" panel? (Apologies if you answered this earlier in thread) 2) What is your overall impression of which is the superior 22" for everyday, non-gaming use? A subjective answer is fine as you are unique in having both side by side and your views as to...

    LG L226WT 22" 3000:1 Contrast

Spent some time examining the LG 226WT today at my local Best Buy after growing tired of all the Samsung 226BW "S" panel versus "A" panel crap, + noting the styling on the Sammy is a bit garish for me. Best Buy uses a standard def. DVD of 6 shots hooked to their monitors via VGA for display...

Excellent photo review. I'm struck by the vast improvement in backlight bleed when dynamic contrast is on. Is there a downside to its use or do you inrend to leave it enabled for daily LCD use? Thanks for your effort to post these pics...I agree the colors do seem a bit off. Do you...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Does anyone have a factual basis for the concern that "A" panel is inferior to "S" panel? I'm wondering if this forum has tried and convicted Samsung based on a perception of duplicitous business practices, but my primary interest at this point is whether the aftual TN panel quality is or isn't...

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Ooops...my bad, just noticed DuckyBoy's is a 206, not 226BW. Can anyone provide a review of the 226BW "A" panel so we can separate our emotional distaste for "bait and switch" from true quality loss? Thanks again.

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

Love to see pics and hear your impression of the "A" 226BW panel, as that's what my CC stocks as well. Frankly, while the "bait and switch" is offensive, if this panel is still the best 22 inch'er at its price point with an ":A" panel I'll go for it. Can you review your panel for us? Thanks!

    Samsung 226BW 22": 3000:1 Contrast, 2ms response time

I'm a bit confused as other threads in this forum note there may only be 2 TN panel manufacturers for most 22 "consumer displays, principally Chimei and Samsung. 22" vs. 20.1" - What do you think?

Isn't this a bit like buying a Lexus you test drove and then finding out the one you bought actually swapped in a Kia engine? Seems like it should be regulated/illegal. Is there any way to tell if its Sammy or AOC from the box, as CC may not be thrilled with me breaking open the box to check...
