Supreme Commander is an awesome, revolutionary game in the RTS genre. Unfortunately, I doubt that C&C3 will come anywhere near it for one sole reason: EA. Generals was a true piece of shit game and I'm sure the Westwood guys were shaking their heads at that one.
I sure would love to be...
Go in to the color settings menu and set the PC Custom Colors to anything below 90. Mine are set at
red 81
green 82
blue 90
This got rid of the green motion trails for me when moving a grey or black object across a white background.
With the 680i boards, if you register it within a month of buying it, EVGA will offer cross-shipping on the RMA. You pay the shipping on sending yours back, and they pay the shipping on sending you a new one.
Thanks for the input guys. That link to the EVGA forums thread seems to describe exactly the problem I'm having. It sounds like it only happens with the 680i boards. I'll be looking forward to a BOIS update.
XP Pro, and I'm just running AntiVir Personal Edition and Alcohol 120%. 29 processes at startup with 0-1% cpu usage.
Do you think it could be my e6600 overclocked to 3.3GHz is getting overstressed? It never goes above 58*C on load.
I ask this because if you are using SATA CD drives and hard drives then the SATA controller might be bad. In that case you might want to try a CD drive hooked up to the ATA ribbon to rule that out.
Well it does it during games, say in Company of Heroes when I want to rotate the map view and have to hold ALT, it will beep a few times, and studder a little bit. Also it will happen when I'm running a stability check program, and typing something at the same time (which is understandable)...
Sorry, must have misread the post. Well I have an e6600 and a 680i and they seem to be working fine, except for a few quirks here and there.
Are you using a SATA or IDE for your CD drives?
My EVGA 680i motherboard seems to make a beep from the system speaker at random times while under heavy system load, particularly heavy 3d games and using the calculator while orthos is running. This isn't an issue from holding down multiple keys at once, as it happens with only 1 key being...
All you have to do is take some scissors, a dremel, drill, or even a heated up metal rod and make indents in the places where the little resistors are. It's not difficult at all, just a little bit time consuming. Unless you have a metal backplate or something, then you could probaby just drill...
60*C seems to be the common consensus on a safe maximum temperature. You should not be getting that high on 2.8GHz, you should check your airflow in your case. Do you have a fan in the back of your case sucking out the air from the Zalman 9700? Is your Zalman set up in the correct direction...
Anyone else having this problem?
I'm having this wierd issue with the 680i on an e6600. When I set the multiplier down to 8x and the FSB to 400MHz, the BOIS startup screen, Orthos, and Nvidia Monitor will report it as 3600Mhz (450Mhz x 8) but CPU-Z and Nvidia Control Panel will report it as...
