Lian Li Q7 with two seperate AIOs

Well.. this is my first post in more than 4 years. My last wc build was for my i7 920 and that has served me well till now. Actually, it's still darn good since I replaced the orginal 280 with a 480 two years ago. It can still run anything out there. However, I figured I'll upgrade to an IB i7...

MSI Hydrogen 480GTX for 300 at newegg

I just got the MSI hydrogen 480GTX at newegg for $300 (400 with 100 mail in rebate) That's one heck of a deal. The block seems to be the HK full cover block, with retails for 100 ish, meaning the 480GTX itself is only around $200. Any one with experience on how much this thing can OC?

New 9800GTX and Q9450 loop need critique

So I'm building a new loop and thought that the MCR220 would be a nice res as it can cool and store water at the same time. I really only wanted the back mount and the res, but bought the kit off newegg since it's only 139... Now I have a extra pump and thought... hmm maybe a dual loop...

    8800GTS G92 wierd noise

I just got my new MSI 8800GTS G92. When I use atitools and try to find a good OC, I noticed that there is a slight whining noise (very low) coming from the G92 PCB. There looks to be like a speaker on the card (small black circular cylander on the upper right of the 6 pin power connector). Can...

Is 1.55v save for long duration on a Q6600 B3?

I've been running my q6600 @3.6ghz and 1.55v for a month now. Is that a safe voltages for a quad? Idle temp at 43-45 and load at 63-65. Funny, but my idle temp at 1.2875v (default) is still around 38-40*C.

Will two PA 120.3 fit in LIAN LI PC-V2000Bplus?

I have this case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112062 I'm thinking of removing all the bottom HD compartments and section divider wall. Will 2xPA 120.3 fill in the bottom backtoback with fans sandwhiched in between? Also The PSU will be on the bottom as well.

    What's a safe tempureture for P5K deluxe?

It's a 42*C atm, but I've notice that the default warning temp on the asus probe software is 45*C. Is my temp too high? Also... am I the only one that doesn't like the stupid heatpipe design for mobos? They're cluttery... and there's such a big descrepency of temps between different things on...

Question on FSB and memory speed

I can set my FSB to 400 and my memory to DDR21000 so that it runs at 500mhz. Is there any benefits to do? Any improvements in bandwidth or speed?

    Q6600 @ 440x8 or 7x500 which is better?

I've read that the memory bandwidth might be an issue with the quads. So what should I run my OCed Q6600 at? 3520 with 8x440 or 3500 with 7x500? I'm too lazy to do actual benching with different settings. Anyone have experience?

    Q6600 B3 @ 3.52 ghz :)

I finally managed it I think I shouldn't have tried to OC it right out of the box. Now that the CPU has been broken in and the artic 5 has settled, I managed to hit 440x8 with 1.525v in bios. But cpu-z doesn't show the voltage correctly. I wonder why.

    Q6600 B3 (can't get past 3.5ghz)

Is that normal with a watersetup? I have two radiators (120.4 and 120.1) Cpu @ 1.475v and idles at 45*C load temps go over 60*C!

    Bubble trouble

I switched from a res to a T line, but now I'm having trouble getting rid of bubbles in the rooms. If I leave the loop running, how long will it take for the bubbles to get out? Should I leave the cap off the fill port? Please give some advise, thanks

CoolIT Eliminator in a existing WC loop

In my quest to get some better performance out of my WC setup, I've been looking at waterchillers. Most are too loud, bulky, and/or troublesome to install. I don't like TEC/water setups becase of the failer, condensation and power usage issues. However, I've been thinking about Eliminator or...

What kind of buildup is it?

I just re-did my WC system with clear PVC tubing (before I had blue tubing) and I noticed that after 3 days of using the system the inside of my tubing turned white-grayish. It's kind of like condensation on the inside of my widow when it's cold outside. I took part of the tube and squeezed it...

    8800 Drivers for XP64

So I realized that the new 8800 cards don't come with drivers for XP64 (my offical BFG cd didn't work anyway) and nvidia has no official drivers for it either. I used an unofficial driver (96.89) and it seems to reconize the card and work, that is until I try to play with the oc settings or some...

    Can a 7800gtx sli with a 7900gt?

I fuzered up my 7900gt recently when I went to clean my watercooling setup >.> (Honestly, I think my watercooling setup is costing me more hassle than it's worth. But that's another thread.) I plan on RMAing that unit. What I wonder is if that 7900gt could go sli with my 7800gtx in an older...

    Core 2 @ 3.6ghz with 1.425v, what's your lowest stable voltage?

I got my E6600 to OC to 3.6ghz stable with 1.425 volts. Did anyone manage to get a lower stable voltage? I see a lot of posts for 3.6ghz @ 1.5volts. It seems strange that I can run 3.2ghz, stable @ default voltage, but to get that 400mhz more I have to increase the voltage so much. What is the...

Need advise on improving my cooling system

I upgraded to an E6600 and 7950GT system from my x2 4400+ and 7800GTX. Old temps under load: CPU = ~38*C GPU = ~44*C and Idles around 33*C/38*C New temps under load: CPU = ~48*C GPU = ~54*C and idles around ~43/43 So, all in all there's been a ~10*C jump in temperature. What...

Why does my motherboard set the PEG link width as 1x?

I don't know when it happened, but after putting together a new system with E6600 P5B Deluxe/WifiAP 7900GT cpu-z and rivatuner are both showing 1x link width mode selected for the 16X PEG port.Max. Supported still shows as 16x. Does anyone have an idea of what caused this? I remeber back...

What's better? Loosely applied artic or default pads

I've been wondering... Sometimes I get those one piece heatsinks on videocards that goes over both GPU and the rams with the GPU being tad higher so the manufacturers usually put some thermal pads over the ram chips to make sure contact is made. I usually take apart whatever new equipment I get...
