Just got my B3 in.
As far as shipping the old one back, I might have lost or given away a couple of the accessories that came with the board, as I can't find them.
I'm reading on the ASUS RMA site that they want you to return the original contents, but I also remember reading elsewhere...
What phone number is everyone calling to get their RMA's set up? I'm getting very frustrated.
I registered my board a while ago on their "notice" page, with S/N etc. I recieved an email with a confirmation number saying they would email me when the new boards are ready. Clearly based on this...
Unfortunately I'm limited to NCIX, and they don't sell that CPU anymore. Also, there's a "combo deals" thing available when I buy that motherboard that lets me get the 5200+ for $83. The 4450e (if it were still being sold on NCIX), would go for $85!
*shakes fist at newegg*
Yes, I'm in Canada (ugh).
The build I posted only has 2x1gb, unless we're looking at two different things :)
Thanks for the suggestions so far though, I swapped out the memory for the kit you mentioned. The HDD and the CPU suggestion ended up being more expensive though because I can...
Thanks for the reply, I'm not super up-to-date on tuner knowledge, but to be clear, they currently don't -- and I don't forsee them getting -- HD tv service in the near future. I shudder at the thought of SD content on a nice new HD set, but I'm sure down the line it might be something they'd...
I'm trying to plot out an HD HTPC build for my parents Christmas present this year (they are buying themselves an HDTV finally). Trying to keep the budget down. So far I had this specced out, any thoughts / suggestions? Every HTPC build I've found is extremely dated at this point. The primary...
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm replacing my Tuniq Tower with a Vendetta 2, and I picked up the Thermalright bolt-thru kit to use with the new heatsink.
My problem is that the vendetta 2 mounting plates come with the standard intel push-pins pre-mounted in the metal bracket. From...
Anyone have some good case recommendations for moderate overclocking? When I bought my rig, I wanted it to be as quiet as possible on air, so I went with the NZXT Hush. It sounded like a good idea at the time, but now I regret it because the case is so small and has such poor airflow that I have...
I am having the same issue. EVGA 8800 Ultra, Vista 64, 169.12. And mostly happening with UT3.
I haven't OCed the card at all, and the temps are at 65c when its happening, so it's not overheating.
The card plays every other game perfectly.
I've looked around but can't find any benchmarks that include min fps as a stat which boggles the mind. Does anyone else feel this is the most important stat in a benchmark? I don't care if my hardware is pulling 120fps most of the time if it still drops to 40-45 in some places..
The reason I...
No, the monitor was sent to them once for the firmware upgrade, then I got it back and the DVI no longer worked, so I sent it back to them for the specific reason of having the DVI port fixed. They knew what needed to be fixed and what they needed to show me. It was an authorized repair place...
I just got back from my extensive testing session, and thought I'd give you an update.
We tried the monitor on 4 different PC's running through DVI -- it worked on NONE of them.
We tried 4 different OTHER LCD monitors on my PC, and all 4 of them worked perfectly.
The problem is 100% the...
Well, when I shipped mine back to them the second time to look at the broken DVI port, they paid for shipping both ways because unlike the firmware upgrade, this is considered to be a "repair" and is covered under warranty. They had FedEx at my door the day after I set it up.
I suppose, but why would it work before the firmware and not after? All it added was the option for 1:1 pixel mapping, which I have set to "full" anyways, so the signal should be processed the same way as before the firmware.
Alright then, phew!
Well then, my friend will be here shortly with just a little dell 1505 monitor, we'll try it out, and I'll get back to you.
What video card do you have by the way? 9700 Pro here.
Wow, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I took it in for firmware and got it back and the DVI input doesnt work anymore. I sent it back in to BenQ and they say the DVI is working fine. I bought another DVI cable and it still doesn't work, and tried another video card and it...
I bought my BenQ FP241 monitor early on, and as such it didn't have the 1:1 pixel mapping upgrade.
I took it in to have the upgrade done, and when I got it back to my house, my DVI input on the monitor was no longer getting a signal. When I unplugged the cable it got "no cable detected" so I...
Just a quick update, I contacted BenQ about the DVI input on the monitor no longer working after the firmware update, and they are picking it up and FedEx'ing it to the same place that did the upgrade to try and fix the port.
I thought it might have been something to do with my video card's...
I've done that also, it just comes on, black screen with "input DVI" and then "no signal detected" and then turns off :(.
I'm deciding whether to call BenQ tomorrow, or just call Getronics, the repair place BenQ sent me to get it upgraded that appear to have messed this up.
Well, I know the first person on this forum to have this update done in Canada was BrokenAnnihilator who had none of these problems. He took it to the exact same repair place I dropped mine off at. So it isn't happening to everyone, just me! Restarting doesn't fix my computer at all, I've...
svt_02, did you also get a non-updated version, took it into BenQ for the upgrade, and when you got it back the DVI connection was no longer working? I'm not clear as to if you personally are having the same problem that I am, or if its just from previous posts in this thread. The posts a couple...
Got mine back from the BenQ repair facility today...the 1:1 works I was testing it with my Wii earlier...then I go to plug it into my PC and the DVI port isn't working...
It just turns on for a second, says "No signal detected" and then the power light turns orange. The monitor works fine...
I had none when I first bought mine. Recently one appeared, it was NOT there when I bought it as I checked thoroughly beforehand. So I suppose it's a "stuck" pixel, but I've tried a number of methods both software and physical to try and get rid of it, and I can't. When there's blacks on the...
I'm in Ontario so the nearest one to me was a Gentronics (authorized repair facility I suppose), on Middlefield Rd.
When you call to set up an RMA just ask!
Just dropped mine off for the firmware upgrade, 3-5 days and I'll have it back.
I'm now on a 13" (yes 13), and it's curved like a magnifying glass.
My eyes really hate me right now.
That's awesome broken, you said you can just drop it off without having to setup and RMA over the phone?
If that's the case could I bother you to post here, or PM me the location of the depot for Ontario? The guy told me it was in Toronto but I never got the exact address.
Edit: I did a little...
I just noticed this now, but is there a reason why the only 16:10 resolution choice I have is the monitors native resolution of 1920x1200?
I understand LCD's and the concept of native resolutions, but if, for example, I want to play Company of Heroes at a 16:10 resolution, but lower than the...
Haven't had a chance to sub in the 9700pro into it yet, but just to clarify, I have formatted the PC, and also used drivercleaner before doing so, neither worked.
The card DOES start in VGA mode, and allows me to install the drivers, but after I do the required PC restart when the drivers are...
I recently got a free 9600XT from a friend so I figure I'd stick it into my budget machine to beef it up a little. The problem is whenever I install the drivers and then restart, after the windows logo the screen just stays black and never comes back, monitor light flashing in standby mode...
Well I just called BenQ and they have stated that there IS a $45 CDN charge to have the monitor upgraded, even if I drop it off to the service center -- in other words it is not for the shipping. This is BenQ Canada.
He couldn't explain to me (as in, he wasn't able to articulate properly) as...
Does anyone know where the Canadian (Ontario if possible), service centers are located? I looked over and all I could find were reseller addresses. I guess I'll call BenQ Canada tomorrow.
Would it be possible for it to be a downloadable self-install update? Or is it likely to be the same situation as the Dell where we'd have to ship it to them for the update and then back to us...I hope we don't have to pay for shipping if thats the case...
I also hope that if it exists, that...
