I'd look at new cooling as well but after your checks if it doesn't happen again it may be just one of those things you won't figure out. Maybe the fan stopped spinning for some reason for a period.

Agreed. If its part of a kit they'll want the kit back. As a kit you wouldn't want to keep one stick and match it later. If they didn't take both back you would want to demand that they did to send another matched pair.

More the RAM is accessed the faster the light show. I had mine for two months now and a few sticks have just now failed MEMTEST. They get extremely hot as you know and IMO pretty much garbage. I hope when I RMA these I get something different eventually.

Vista Ultimate has ultimate extras which are virtual screen savers. Like running water and such. I also believe that Ultimate is the only version that has backup software for the PC. The other versions you can back up files and such but one click back up with Ultimate.

Six one way and half a dozen the other - Newegg it and see what's on sale. I have the Sony Optitarc (SP)and zero issues so far.
