There is no copper, to my knowledge, between the buildings, we'd have to rely soley on WDS.
There is not a budget in mind...yet, I was thinking around 5k.
I've been approached at finding the best way to serve wifi at an apartment complex with several buildings.
Here is an overview of the premisis:
The red lines represent breezeways within the complex, it's an open breezeway, two stories tall with nothing more than some metal stairs in each...

I used to work at a cable ISP doing internet tech support.
Basically I’d pull up your modem (by mac) up in UBR, you can then see what device is connected to it, it'll give you a mac address, I copy that and say....run it through http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/ and it'll trace that mac...
Things like this subsequently makes the public trust the government less and less, it's just a few bad apples. Everyone makes mistakes. I know many who have a military and government security background, and I can say there are some really good and competent people out there who do in fact work...
Okay, good to know the APC already comes with the right cord.
To clarify, our current location does have a giant UPS that can power all computers, however, we are moving to a NEW location that does NOT have this, thus the need for the APC RM2U (to tide things over until the generator kicks in)
Well the new place does not have any UPS, so when there is a spike and or loss of power, things will go down. In event power is lost, it takes a couple seconds for the generator to kick in, we need something to handle the load until then. A lot of times we have small outages that only last a...
We are moving our facility to a new (& better) place, this includes a server cabinet with about 5 servers inside and some switching equipment, pretty small compared to what's out there. This is for a financial institution.
The reason for this move is because the new building has a diesel...
Well, no, it was actually the fact that the printer was an "all-in-one", then I heard that it wont work with that.
But I did revert back to my old thread to refresh myself, and it did help. Thank you very much for the help, the screenshot tutorial was a big help (that's dedication!).
Yep, same versions.
AND....IT WORKS!!!!! OMFG this is the biggest accomplishment i've ever made, okay not that big, but it's been on the back burner for months and finnally I got it to work! w00t.:D
Okay, went in the events log not too long ago and whatdoyanoo, driver error. So I loaded the driver on the remote comptuer....perhaps that will solve the problem?
The client's Comcrap cable modem is acting flakey right now so can't log in, hopefully it works.
As some of you may recall, a couple weeks ago I started a thread on remote printing.
I know that it is shunned upon for replying to an old thread, thus I started a new one.
This has not been resolved and has been move to top priority; I know I am getting somewhere....slowly.
Basically this...

Well that must be what it is, driver related.
Both systems are running XP Pro. I am not 100% on what make and model pritner, but I think it's one of those (USB) HP DeskJets.
FromTheLou, that is currently what the person is doing.
I just got the "memo" and essentially the "home" printer is not showing up on the "remote" comptuer, that's the problem. Now this changes everything, seems like it could be a simple fix? Just need to get that home computer to show up in...
Ummm, yeah.
That all went over my head. Trying to print over the internet. Not LAN, WAN.
Maybe some more in depth instructions. Google has failed to offer any advice or tutorial how to do this.
Bassically the person has a USB printer hooked up to their computer, they are remoting to...
I have someone who lives about 100 miles away, does work by remote desktop into a computer where I am at. One problem, printing.
She would like to print stuff from the remote computer to her home printer. It's not as simple as copy paste, email and print at home, she needs (or it'll likely be...
When the Wii first came out, I really wanted one. My friends all raved about it and I had more than enough money to splooge on one.
It's been quite awhile after the launch, I still haven't been able to get my hands on one, and yanoo what? I don't want one anymore.

I am currently planning a large scale computer gaming event and I'd like to make a completely separate website for it.
I need just a basic webpage with the event info (which I am capable of creating), forum, and what I can't do is some sort of registration and payment area.
I currently...
Okay, I ordered one on eBay. This thing is amazing, one of the best laptops i've ever owned (okay, my old Sager 4780 could be better...).
Its a keeper.

So, I run these LAN Parties, and i'd like to change the way people sign in.
The way I used to do it was have pieces of paper for people to sign, they enter their name and alias, all that super interesting stuff. Then at the bottom there is a little waiver, saying we are not responsible for an...
Hmmm, well it looks like that PS4820-POE is good enough. I looked at some better pictures of the camera and it has a switch so you can choose what voltage and input types you wish to use.
So I need in install a network camera somewhere. I currently have a d-link DCS-3220 but would like to upgrade to something that has a more superior image quality.
I have chosen a Toshiba network camera.
It says it has "802.3af PoE". I currently have a d-link branded PoE adapter that i'm...
