My BFG 6800 Ultra seems to cause freezes in all games. I've tried turning off fast writes - all that does is make it freeze for about 5 seconds less, and slightly less frequently. Both games I've tried (Far Cry and The Suffering) freeze for about 5-10 seconds - in game, then you can play again...

Is this true? I mean look at doom 3 on a 4 Gb system, with the 6800Ultra PCI-E vs the AGP equivalent - there's literally a 1fps difference at 1600x1200. Is it the P4 cpu holding it back? Would the same vs two FX-53's show one to be *noticeably* better than the other? So PCI-E and DDR2...

With the benchmarks, when they're fairly close, the small FPS difference doesn't really matter . What matters is the image quality - if ATI or Nvidia has better image quality than the other then it's simply the better gaming card. Isn't it true that the x800xt has sightly better image/texture...

I've just got this new CRT (Iiyama VM 514) and I notice this faint "line" running across it nearer to the top of the display, it's quite annoying atm - does anyone know what I'm talking about? Could the monitor be damaged? I'm not sure if this effects games yet....
