This year has been tough for me financially.
I'm selling my HD 650's as well as my tube amp to downgrade to something else.
I was thinking about getting some in ear buds (something like the Sennhieser CX500s)
as well as either a standalone HTIB setup or maybe a couple of powered...
you have to manually enter the info yourself. The filenames of the tracks (probably what your cars cd player is picking up) have absolutely no relation to the info in the ID3 tags. You can do this automatically in foobar however. It will allow you to auto tag the filenames as the track titles.
The DT880s aren't bass heavy at all. I owned a pair before I owned my 650's. They have a huge soundstage recessed mids, bright highs and fairly weak bass. They'd be good for gaming and perhaps lively acoustic music (think new age or jazz) but they aren't the kind of headphones you want to wear...
I would strongly advise against Deck keyboards.
Check out the 2nd page on this thread I made a while back

I wanted the ultimate compact, mechanical key, backlit keyboard and was delivered a huge pile of feces instead. The pics don't do...
People panning the game because they suck at it are just ridiculous. Stalker was an incredible game. Go back to playing Star Wars Battlefront (maybe lego star wars is better) if you can't handle it.
What's your volume level set at?
I mentioned before that if it's set too high it can sometimes cause clipping, I noticed that if it was set too low though, say around 30-40% that I would get noticeable emi interference when I would scroll my mouse, use the mouse wheel, open programs etc.
I'd honestly switch to ATI in a heartbeat after all my troubles with nvidia the past year. That is, if they offered the same level of performance as recent/future nvidia cards in the same price bracket.
Those look nice. I mainly want to recable just to have a shorter length. I've read (and have witnessed myself) that cable length can affect sound over analog equipment. I've witnessed this personally when using a 9' cable and a 15' cable over a pair of speakers. The longer cable was ever so...
Just won a tube buffer to go along with what I have now...
I'll dig out an old digicam from my closest to try and take better pics. I really don't have much use for a camera otherwise
I'm using them in the auzen prelude. You can switch out the opamps in it. I bought 2 different types of brown burr opamps to test.
I switched out the stock chinese driver tubes for some mullards and it made a huge difference.
Apologies for the terrible quality. I changed my lighting (put a lamp behind my monitor which looks very nice IRL but not so much in photos. And I'm using a camera phone. I need to get a new digicam.
Kind of interesting because the tubes show up as purple in the camera phone but they're...

haven't played in a long time. I gave it a shot over the weekend and was terrible compared to when I first started out.
My card died after less than a year without any overclocking. The reason I didn't overclock it was because the autodetect oc settings were detected as only like 10mhz higher than stock (probably a good indicator the card was just bad to begin with). After I sent it to EVGA they sent me a dead...
Yeah they screwed me over with RMA as well after one of my cards died in less than a year (without any oc'ing). I won't buy from them again. The RMA card they sent me was defective. Wouldn't even boot properly. I had to wait a little over a month to get a working card and that's after showing my...
They should have kept with it longer, I agree. AMD often makes awful business decisions but usually the quality of their products is enough to keep them afloat. Not so much anymore though. I wonder if they'll still be around in 5 years time.
I was going to go with a LD before I discovered darkvoice. The 336 is meant to be nice for tube rolling but for pure sound quality, despite the fact less options for tubes are available, the 332 and 337 are meant to sound much better. My original intent was beyer dt-880s and a 336 but I was...
I had crap like that on a CS zombie mod server. all the mods cheated like crazy. They banned me because I was smarter than most players (knew how to use E to move boxes they stacked at entrances, knew how to duck jump etc) they were just idiots even though they had a high amount of people that...
It would be a fun monitor to have if anything would support it but since it will be such an obscure item nobody will take their time to develop anything for it.
Go with a nice headphone setup. If your neighbors are noisy get some closed headphones. Headphones are great when you have roommates/live close to neighbors.
If you like the sennheiser sound I would suggest sticking to them and just go up the ladder of their higher products when you can afford it. I tried some other headphones after just using a pair of 280-hd (which I've read that audiophiles generally seem to think are mediocre) but tried beyer and...
I have a darkvoice 332 and sennheiser 650s. My place is kind of messy and I'm feeling a bit sick but I will take pics once I'm feeling better and get things more organized. I think this setup is very nice though. Already bought some new tubes as well as some opamps to replace in my prelude. I...
I probably wouldn't go the SLI route again unless I wanted/could afford 2 of the most recent flagship cards. I would rather just get one flagship card. Despite what people say, SLI has been a real pain for me. It does help tremendously in the games that support it though. Nvidia's drivers often...
you sure you have it plugged into the right slot? Its the one on the farthest side. You using optical? If so, then a red light should be on. Should just work without having to change any settings in the control panel.
There was a sale for sennheiser 280-hd headphones for something like $66 the other day. Can't remember where though. They're very good entry level multi-purpose headphones. I liked them so much I stepped up to their flagship model (after trying beyer and other brands in the process)
I recently bought a pair of beyer DT-880s. Didn't like the way they sounded though so I bought a pair of HD650s and a darkvoice 332 amp to replace them. Got rid of my panasonic xr-55 as well.
mine sucks. can't even barely run at stock settings (had to lower some timings, not the main timing though) They didn't honor my rebate either. won't buy from them again, needless to say.
Thanks. Wouldn't need to adjust volume even because I'd be using a separate headphone amp. I'll most likely get this card to replace my av-710 if I can get a good deal on an amp.
Someone told me that analog + digital don't work together in Vista for some reason. Can anyone confirm that?
Anyone know? I wanted to be able to switch between a receiver & speakers over a digital spdif connection and have a separate tube amp hooked up to analog for dedicated headphone use.
I have an AV-710 right now that can do both if I switch to 'Hi Sample Rate Mode' but then it resamples DTS & DD...
bah. I ended up returning the deathadder. Couldn't get used to it's shape. Despite it being ergonomically designed it really doesn't feel all that comfortable to me. Almost as though they guesstimated the ergonomics rather than conceptually designed them to properly fit a human hand. The side...
I'd probably hold off all together until new cards are released. That way you could pick up 8 series for cheap maybe (or not waste the money so you can get something better)
I have the upgrade urge now. I could get a 8800GTX or something and have maybe 30% (if not less) performance gains but...
Hmm I haven't been into it so much in the last year. It's one of the reasons I haven't upgraded (then again my system is still powerful enough to play almost anything at high settings/res) Stalker and CoD 4 have really gotten me back into gaming though and I will probably upgrade for future...
Sounds like the microswitches (i believe thats what they're called) are messed up or have collected dust. My first copperhead had a similar problem but would double click instead. Hopefully the deathadder I just ordered doesn't have this trouble. (my replacement copperhead worked fine) sounds...
