At this point about 90% of the newer games offer native widescreen, or at least the option to update a config file. All the newest AAA titles offer native widescreen.
So i would feel pretty comfortable saying yes.
Received my second replacement (third monitor overall) and i am very happy to say it has zero backlight leakage. I do have 2 dead sub pixels, but they are on the outside edges and i dont even notice them in normal usage. I would much rather have those than the backlight leakage.
I think...
Ive been working on getting my second replacement 2005FPW for about a week now, and after all the phone conversations and emails i have sent back and forth, i really dont know exactly how many new monitors i am going to be getting. I received a confirmation that they have received my returned...
Stealthecho, did your replacement include any return shipping information? It took me a week to get any information out of them on how to return my defective monitor. Then wehen i got the replacement, it was defective as well so i am still trying to get it returned.
everyone i talked to there has really tried to help, but the language barrier is pretty rough and thier knowledge is so scripted that if you ask anything that is the least bit original you will confuse them =)
I am having a hell of a time getting my 3rd monitor. I currently have 2 from dell, both with horrid backlighting. I have the confirmation number from UPS For the pickup of 1 defective monitor so a new replacement can be sent out, but i cant seem to get tech support or cusomer service to...
Its really personal preference. I will say one thing though, Once you start playing a few games that support widescreen resolutions it will be very hard to go back to a 4:3 aspect screen. Widescreen just feels "right". You also have the added benefit of being able to bring up 2 full...
The best thing to do when you call thier tech support is pretend you know nothing. It actually helps. just say "omgz my m0nitrz has teh white c0rnrz!?!?!?!" They will have you unplug it and try all thier neat little tricks and tell you its defective.
There are quite a few posters that have zero backlight leakage. As far as i know, it is a common problem with LCD's, and you will always have "some" leakage, but not to the extent that some of us have. An inch or so is fine, but bleeding about 5 inches from the corner of the screen is not. I...
Dell's return process is pretty dan good compared to most places, just make sure you go through the tech support routine. Just play dumb, the ppl on teh other end of the phone dont know jack so just say the corners of your screen are grey and the rest is black. They will have you unplug...
My first one had the exact same backlight issue, i called tech support and they agreed to overnight me a new one and include a return shipping envelope.
I just received the replacement, and it is just as bad. I will be returning it as well.
Overall i am still very pleased with the...
Games dont seem to suffer nearly as much when running at non native resolutions. The only thing i notice is sometimes text in menu's can be a little fuzzy, but other than that the non native resolutions are just fine.
I will see if i can get some screenies for you.
No ghosting whatsoever in WoW. I dont even notice ghosting in HL2, but i am probably not as critical as the pro fps player types.
Once you go widescreen it is really hard to go back. Especially when you start playing the newer games @ 1690x1050.
It also seems like you get more screen real-estate with widescreen... I know that technically you get less than you do with a 4:3 20" @ 16x12, but it actually feels like you...
Ati drivers support strecthing and locking to a normal aspect, you just have to determine what you want in the display proerties. I am pretty sure nvidia does the same. Actually i think nvidia drivers offer even more controll
I cant compare my 2005fpw to the 2001fp, but the text is about the...
