It seems to be an issue with the video card, and has already been reported to ATI earlier. Not that ATI wanted to help me over the phone though, they told me "dell products are not available for over the phone customer service" and directed me to try the website. And hung up.
I completely...
One of the guys working here at my office has a "new" Dell 2007wfp. Its a revision A00 S-IPS. It is currently being run with a Optiplex 745, Core 2 E6700, 2GB Ram, and a 256MB ATI x1300.
It is also plagued by flickering. Or maybe monitor power issues. Or maybe video card issues. Not really...
Yeah, I'm telling you right now, it's not the cable.
If you're looking for a good replacement in the same price range, I suggest this.

Ooooooh the power supply's connected to the.....motherboard.....the motherboards connected to the....video cards.....and the video cards don't have enough power to....operate their cores.....and as a result they are putting lots of.....dots on the screen....Oh mercy how they scare!
Nope. DVI-I means it is capable of carrying both DVI-D and DVI-A. Also, be aware that it is not possible to connect a male DVI-I to a female DVI-D (like the one on your monitor).
Case closed. Your video cards are suffering from being underpowered thanks to another Wonderful Thermaltake Product. Go pick up a PC P&C or a Seasonic -- anything that is more reliable than the notoriously shoddy Toughpower line.
Now I have to ask this for the sake of asking, but are you running your games at native resolution? The dots may be a result of a poor scaler in the monitor.
Furthermore, is it primarily an issue while moving around in a game or does it occur while standing still as well?
For example: while...

Second, specifically, what type of Gateway monitor do you have? (specifically, the model number) The...
Hell, I'll happily trade a bunch of TDK CD-R's that come with individual cases. I don't burn cd's anymore thanks to a new ipod nano, so I've got a bunch lying around. *takes a second to count*

holy mother of god I could have a heart attack. Banjo Kazooie is bar none one of my favorite games of all time.

There are plenty of good HDCP LCD screens out right now. DVI supports HDCP so HDMI is not neccesary. I have not heard of a single video card having HDMI, so provide a link to that please. And HDCP has nothing to do with windows, it has to do with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players using discs with...
Can you hook up a select few from the forums for an employee discount? Please? Paying rent in manhattan is hard enough without my urges to drop 1700 on the 26".
i just did my upgrade from 5600 to 5728 and everything worked flawlessly. I'm using avast corporate AV and it works fine load times are significantly improved and window display rendering is no longer delayed. Overall a nice extra for RC1
