Hi, I'm trying to connect to a wifi network that's 600 feet away. I'd like use the 5ghz band (trying for high throughput). Can I use a directional antenna on just one end of this link? What are my best options for this? I'd like to avoid using a point to point bridge due to cost...

    Gigabyte GTX-480 SLI help...

Hi, I recently bought a Gigabyte GTX-480 (V-N480D5-15I-B). I liked it so much I thought I'd give SLI a shot so I bought a second card. Both cards are the exact same card. I used the SLI jumper that came with the motherboard. Both of the cards are in a PCIEX16 slot. Card #1 is in slot...

    Best motherboard for a i7-980X?

Ok, I'm going to go with a GA-X58A-UD7 (rev. 2.0). I'd like to drop 12 gig of ram on this motherboard. Any suggestions as to which ram to buy? I'd like to buy a matched 12gig set. Was thinking about getting DDR3 1600 but wanted some feedback. Also, pros/cons on using 6 sticks of 2...

    Best motherboard for a i7-980X?

The reason I'm ruling out asus is the last 2 computer builds I had 4 out of 5 asus boards DOA. I might be willing to give asus a shot again but "only" from a local vendor. I'm building this computer as a gaming machine and considering using 12 gig of ram with it. If anyone has a specific...

    Best motherboard for a i7-980X?

Going to be building a new computer with a i7-980X chip and wanted some feedback. I don't want a ASUS board (had too many past issues with them). Anyone have any suggestions for a good motherboard and/or build? Note: I don't want to spend more than apx 300-350 for a motherboard. Must...

    Sata to ethernet adapter

This is the closest thing so far I've been able to find. http://www.addonics.com/products/nas/nas25hdu2.asp Still looking since it uses a 10/100 and not a gig interface. Also it uses one of those loud mini fans for cooling. Greg

    Sata to ethernet adapter

"If you think a SSD will make the NAS faster you are mistaken." No, I know my SSD won't make my network faster. I already have a NAS. I just don't leave it running 24/7. I have a spare SSD laying around and I think having one setup as a network hard drive that I can access remotely via FTP...

Best Current SSD (OCZ Vertex, Intel X-25M, SanDisk C25-G3, Etc)

I bought a OCZSSD2-1C128G and had nothing but problems with it (ie stuttering while having multiple applications open). After trying again and again to get OCZ to fix it I finally gave up. I've been a huge fan of OCZ products for years but the complete lack of customer service/support for...
