To everyone dismissing the OP's results I have only one thing to say:
This whole community should embrace the concept of objective and quantitative analysis.
You don't need tons of fancy equipment to collect useful data. Screenshots and camera pics are easy to create and can be quite...
I'll let you know, but the shipping's probably worth more than the whole computer. This is a steel case, no plastic on it at all! It's not light.
The LC11 is a neat case though. It's one of the only ones I know that suspends the motherboard upside down in normal use. Plus is has a neat...
I have an old HTPC I no longer need. It's a little old, but still useful.
Case: Silverstone LC11 in Silver (mATX case, looks like A/V component)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF
CPU: Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 754 with Zalman cooler (quite for HTPC use)
Chipset: nVidia nForce 4 -...
My parts bin is mostly low value stuff that wouldn't be worth shipping. I might go through it this weekend and pull out the higher value stuff and post it here.
I also have a variety of computer parts. If anyone comes and gets this thing this week, you can raid my parts bin and get anything you want! I have SATA hard drives (even a raptor), video cards, DVD drives, cables, heatsinks (a nice zalman even).
I also have a multifunction HP OfficeJet 7310 that I need to get rid of. Someone gave it to me saying it was making an odd noise, and I never got around to messing with it. If you are in North Alabama, you can have it for free.
The machine is running Windows 7 Ultimate right now, and if you want to pick it up I can have it hooked up for you to test before you buy. I'm located near Huntsville, AL.
Cleaned out the closet and came up with some goodies to sell. All items are sold in good working condition, no DOA's here. Prices include shipping inside the US.
nVidia DualTV MCE - Includes everything like new, no remote control though. - $90
Gigabyte Geforce 7600GT - PCIEx16, 128MB...
I have an Athena Power BP-SATA3051B internal SATA hard drive enclosure for sale. It is in perfect working order and includes all the screws and SATA cables necessary for use. I'll also toss in a 4 port PCI SATA card if you want it. The enclosure takes up three 5.25" bays and converts them to...
I decided to just try anyways... at least they show up in Disk Management, but it still won't let me activate the volume. I'm trying iRecover now to see if that will work.
So one of my ten Samsung HD501LJ drives was making some noise and I figured I would run the Samsung HDUTIL on my drives to verify which one was bad and replace it. Made a floppy, booted up, and ran the test on 9 of the 10 drives, no problems detected. Go to reboot and my RAID is offline... hmm...
Just got my P5NE-SLI on Tuesday and have been struggling to get a stable overclock out of it. Before I assembled the system I reapplied the northbridge thermal compund and added a Zalman heatsink to the southbridge. After some testing I measured the NB heatsink at 60C, so I mounted a 40mm fan on...
I have an HP LC2000 server with redundant power supplies, dual Slot 1 Pentium 3 800MHz CPU's, four 256MB sticks of ECC PC133 RAM, onboard ethernet and Rage video. Some 64-bit PCI slots, no AGP. I have spare VRM's and PSU's, spare CPU, plus 8 hard drives (6 in the array plus 2 spares). The drives...
You can use these ($25):

They use the Sil3114 chipset. This card can be flashed with either RAID firmware or non-RAID firmware.
No data corruption... that I know of. I am using them in my 4TB Windows software RAID 5 box and it never has any trouble rebuilding the array. I have not run the cards with the RAID BIOS, so I can't say how well that works.
For reasons unrelated to the Sil3114 cards, I am planning to upgrade...

Get the BIOS flashing program here:

Read the instructions included with the files. The b5314.bin firmware is the one you should load to get the card to...
The speed sucks! I get about 25MB/s sustained read or write. CPU usage is a lot less than I thought it would be. On my Athlon 64 X2 4600+ it uses about 10% on one core. I am planning to buy a Highpoint RocketRAID 2340 16 port SATA card real soon.
In addition to the speeds, the BIOS on my...
