I still have my 2500k overclocked and it still gets the job done. Could I upgrade? Sure, but I would need to not only upgrade the CPU and Motherboard but the RAM as well.... so it all adds up for ~10fps-~15fps increase. A lot of money per fps
I was getting 56-70 fps using a gtx 980ti and an overclocked 2500k @ 1440p. It was a mixture between ultra and high preset. My brother with a gtx 970 and an overclocked 2500k @ 1080p high preset was getting 70fps-ish.
I run the Philips X2 into a creative x7 external sound card (basically a soundblaster zxr in an external enclosure). I have my windows set to 70 and 99% of the time have to turn down in game volume or else my ears blow off. It does have an amp bit its nothing to write home about.
What do you...
If they increased the family plan caps I would consider switching but currently they are way to low especially if you are sharing.
Streaming media (video, audio, pictures) has become common place and devices are using more and more data while the data caps do not budge. I believe smartphone...
It is a great card. I had mine for about a week now and love it. The stock fan is noisy though and its a 3 pin so if you want to replace it just make sure you have an adapter or just plug it into one of your mobo fan headers
I guess it all depends on who is fulfilling the order. My order was fulfilled by HPP enterprises. So I had to email them and they got back to me with the code. I lucked out :D
I thought the same thing but if you click on some of the links you can get "instant discounts". I purchased a EVGA GTX 980TI Hybrid from jet.com for 640. It was listed in for 800 something. With the instant discount, the 20% off and waiving the free return...boom good deal
Not all products...
Own an m1 and love the renders so far for this project. Have you ever thought about doing a dual chamber design like the Corsair 240 with the PSU on its side but less 'boxy'
I have a gtx970 running with a ROG Swift monitor and I think it holds up pretty well. I have been playing Witcher 3 and GTA V a lot and mostly everything is on ultra or high (I usually just let the geforce experience profiles take over and then modify it slightly as needed).
I do use GSYC a...
I consider the Z series the official successor to the X-fi series and coming from an X-fi Extreme to a Z I did notice a difference in sound quality. With that being said, since you are using optical DeathFromBelow is correct in that I do not think you would hear any difference in sound quality...
I cheered when I saw this. Does not matter that the 512mb is slower or not in the end there is still 4GB of usable ram. Was it dishonest not to disclose the full truth? Sure, and its perfectly understandable that people are angry over it but saying that it only has 3.5GB of ram is flat out false.
As a former person who fell into the hype of "gaming headsets" I found out that most of them are not worth the money. I have heard really good things about the HyperX clouds and if i were forced to buy a gaming headset that would be easily at the top of that list.
With that being said if...
I still have my original 780 non TI and I am seriously debating. The main reason I want to upgrade is I have a ROG Swift and any fps boost would help @ 1440p
I love the renders.
I know it kind of goes against what you are trying to accomplish with this case but it would be amazing to figure out a way to fit a 120mm or 140mm AIO system in there with minimal dimension changes
I think its for any AIO where the pump is attached to the CPU block. Which is why swiftechs h220x has it separated. Most AIOs now a days are rebadged Aseteks.
You cant run them at the same time but with the gsync board it is as simple as hitting a button literally. What I tend to do is games I want to use light-boost on I try to modify the launch options to run at 120hz because light-boost will not run in 144hz mode. From there I just hit a button to...
This is pretty much the same setup I am aiming for. H220 with GPU block. BTW how much did you have to bend the daughter board up to get the h220 to fit? Also do you think there is room to fit a fan on the bottom?
Currently I am happy with 8.1. I boot into desktop mode and basically just use metro as a fancier version of the start menu. I also do not mind the charm bar when in desktop mode. The only thing I wish is if there was an option to set all default applications to the desktop versions instead of...
Apparently they offer the killer nic drivers without the bloatware software on their forums. That could be a plus if the killer nic software was a deal killer for some people
I thought you had to set windows volume to close to 100% as you can?
I personally am running sound blaster Z > JDS Labs Cmoy > Fidelio x1. I know it is double amping but running it off of the "front" port (There is front, center and rear) the positional audio is not as good. I did not however...
Watching some videos it can fit an h100 on the side perfectly however it might not be able to fit their newly announced h105 because of the thicker radiator. Would have been cool if they could have made it fit a h110 but keeping its current dimensions
From quick testing it works quite well. One let down is it will only broadcast in game and in full screen mode only (at least from 15 min of fiddling around with it)
100 dollars for lower temps, and quieter card. That alone is a selling point for some users. Maybe custom cooling solutions for the 290 might change that. ie: an Asus Direct CUII 290 could be appealing
Unless I read the article wrong there does not seem to be any advantage of the ACX in terms of real life performance. A couple degrees difference on load but you then you have all that hot air expelling into the case vs out the back.
I do not enable vsync, I run a steelseries sensei at 1000hz polling. I run a mouse sensitivity of 1 in game and adjust sensitivity on my mouse. My fps seems to be capped until I uncheck the enable 3d checkbox and I get 160-200 fps but still floaty. I will try turning off sli and some other...
While I can clearly see the difference with lightboost on I am unable to play any games with it because the input lag is unbearable. My mouse is so floaty. I am not sure if its related to running SLI or what.
Enabling LB locked my fps to 120. I could uncheck the enable 3d box but I had to do it while the game was already launched to keep lightboost on. I'm not sure if that's with every game but for black ops 2 that was the case for me.
Sadly it did not do anything. I know the LB is working somewhat since doing the pixperan test I can read the text in the 30s and with it off I can maybe get to 6 or 7. I will probably end up returning this unit for another to see if it is the screen or something on my computer.
