A guide to understanding wide gamut displays

Folks, understanding wide gamut displays is fairly simple. Wide gamut monitors have nothing to do with Adobe or its spectrum. Adobe has their own limited spectrum of color in the full color spectrum. The sRGB color spectrum is a smaller spectrum than the color spectrum than what Adobe is...

The installation of this device is forbidden by system policy.

I had unplugged my Spider2 calibration device for a couple of week but when I plugged it back in it gave me this message. I have Home Premium and can not bring up mmc gpedit.msc to change the group policy. Any word of advice or link would help.

What is the purpose of all of the Windows uninstall files in XP?

I have never had to uninstall an update in all of my years working with Windows. Does the OS need them when looking at what I have for updates? Or does it actually use them when it needs to do a new update? I have uninstalled them before, a couple of days before I reformatted the drive to...

I have one SATA 1.5 and three SATA 3.0 drives that are on my Asus A8N-E motherboard (nForce 4). They all show a test sustained speed of around 77 Mb with the older Raptor coming in at 70 Mb. Is my 1.5 Raptor drive limiting the speed of the three other drives to the SATA 1.5 level? I know that in...

I need some way to lower the sound of my Raptor

I have a Lian Li V SILENT PC-V1100 Silver Computer Case (very nice) and the Raptor is still very noisy. Is there a way to dampen the sound of it? The Raptor is my “poor man’s” computer upgrade instead of a new processor and board and works as well as every one says it does.

Will my board fit into a Lian Li V1000?

I have a Raid board that is 12 ¾ inches long. Is this going to fit into a V1000 case? If it keeps a 5 ¼ slot from being used, its OK. Will this hit the side of the 5 ¼ cage or slide in just past the edge of the cage?

I am looking at a Lian Li PC-V1200 case but I have a problem. I have an Adaptec ATA RAID 2400A card (it is 12” long). This is a massive card but that is not the problem. I am afraid that the 18” cables will not reach into the bottom drive area. I have 7 HD’s, 2 DVD recorders...
