Well, while that seems to be my answer I can't seem to find out why dial-up networking isn't installed or how to install it. I must be an idiot. And, though I haven't plugged in the phone line yet, it will attempt to dial out, so I don't know what the deal is but can only assume MS isn't really...
Sounds like a possible workaround by using the e-mail to fax. Maybe:
I've got to the point of selecting Fax Mail Transport (the instructions match my system btw), but now I get an error on account of not having dial up networking installed, which is odd seeing as how it's selected under...
Yeah, I spent hours last night looking for answers, found those as well, merge to fax is now good for little more than printing envelopes and labels..
So much for "Professional" eh?
I'm considering looking into an earlier version of Office but am rather inclined at this point just to sell the...
Just looking at it now, but I assume I have no MAPI installed, correction, mapi installed
I'm "selecting recipients" from outlook ribbon then under finish and merge there is no fax/merge to fax...I have merge to printer -> print then I select the printer EDIT: (fax) driver with it's own import...
I'm new to Office and am looking for help with merging Outlook contact lists for faxing.
I cannot find useful info in the help files, I'm hoping someone can point me to a good forum for this. (or maybe an answer)
The question/s would be:
Any help greatly appreciated!
"Locked Multiplyer"... There's my answer.
Seems in my original post, edited out, I made a mistake. :o (It's been a while)
The 2.4c is a 400 part but I've run it at 500 on a different board.
A locked multiplyer could be a serious problem, especially when on this side of the ocean availability...
I'm thinking of putting together a single task dedicated computer (video capture, not htpc) using some spare parts, (cpu, ram, video)
I've got a choice between:
P4 2.4c
Asus P4R800-VM
- spare on hand mobo
2*512 Infineon/Samsung PC3200
7600gt agp
Pentium 505 2.6
Asrock G965M-S
- would have...
Anybody experience video corruption/anomaly when plugging in usb device? (flash drive)
System:
M4A79 Dlx
Sapphire 4770
video capture card
All devices powered through APC Smart-UPS 750
problem occurs when viewing video from capture device and plugging in usb stick
- I suspect the problem may be...
Figured it out.
It finally dawned on me that it was the HD audio of the 4670 that the "new hardware wizard" was prompting me for, after the sound driver was installed. So it's a two part install for the video card, at least the way I went about it. Stupid me.
P.S.
"Rant" still stands. :)
Seems I'm not the only one with this problem, (inc. people with all latest service packs etc.)
M4A79 Dlx AthII X2 250
ATI 4670 (Sapphire)
HDMI output selected
(LAN, Firewire, eSATA, disabled)
CnQ disabled
C1E disabled
Installed in this order:
XP Pro (service Pack 2)
OEM cd driver for ATI...
Just had an idea, I could possibly warm the heatsink (hair dryer etc., pick your own method) and see if it evens out.
I'm mostly concerned because it appears not all of it is there, looks sort of patchy. I'd replace it but for the "Processor In Box" warranty conditions. Not really a big deal...
Anybody know what TIM AMD is using these days? (Retail PIB)
I've got some G751 and some X23-7783D, but they are a few years old for one thing, and for now I'm inclined to stick with the stock stuff if it's good enough (also no warranty issues just in case). No oc'ing atm.
But the application of...
I'll just have to wait a little and see if it shows up, I've seen the ddr3 version of the 4670 for about $75 Cdn, but from wha tI've read its fan is very loud. nfg! lol
Nice chart,
here's another:
http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=291&Itemid=72&limit=1&limitstart=11
I'm still hoping though, especially if it comes out with rv740, better not be too long though or these other options may be better.
Depends on price
These are options, if I can't find the AC 4670, but then the power is also a main attraction for me (should've put that in the original post)
Which brand of 4870 are you using risqu3? (if other than ATI)
but then I'd want to replace the cooling, unless there's one with sub 20db stock (I believe that's about the rating), so add $20 Cdn for the Artic Cooling sink And the 4670 has extremely low power draw
SAPPHIRE HD 4670 512MB GDDR4 with Arctic Cooling Does anybody know what's happening with this card? Is it going to be released in North America? It was available at newegg and elsewhere last March but I can't find it anywhere. I think it's available in the U.K. at least. This card fits my needs...
Hi there Juan_Jose, an Asus employee eh?
Good to see you on the forums!
There is one other aspect of this board that causes me some concern.
When I first looked at it, the heat pipe/sink implementation seemed like a good idea but for the possibility of it not making full contact due to it's...
HondaGuy thanks for the offer but I think given it's for my folks I should stick with a new purchse.
wesleys_dad, I've seen you've been posting a lot around forums, I take it you've done your research!
good to hear your recommendation, seems to be typical of Asus to overvolt the chips a bit, as...
I'm looking at this mobo as an upgrade for the folks, and reliability is paramount. I haven't wanted to upgrade because, as the saying goes, If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It!
Well, things are broken. Time to upgrade and move them on to Vista or 7. (I'm still using 2k and Linux, btw)
I'm...
This might be a silly question...
Isn't FF open source and governed by the the GPL?
Therefore anybody/group can modify the software as long as they comply with its terms?
I forgot to mention it's the bond holders that aren't taking the hit along with everyone else, and the primary reason Chrysler is being taken to bankruptcy court, to force them to take a loss.
I don't like the "how it's turning out/going to turn out" either. But I'm not about to simply blame...
The big three's unionized rate of pay is on par with the competition.
Legacy pension costs are what account for the disparity in wages, how many times does it have to be said.
I didn't pull those figures out of my ass, I would have come across those figures on one of the news programs I watch...
Sorry to drag this back to the automakers but coming from an auto town I have a pretty good bit of exposure to the issue, and have seen the industry decline from the days of the auto-pact. I just can't let this rampant union bashing go unanswered without adding my own two-cents (which is about...
Saw some comments about Asus boards solid caps failure while looking into new boards, not at the link below but, fwiw in case you haven't seen this site (they have a forum) http://www.badcaps.net/ now I see you're a mod, I'm sure you know the site, but I hope more bad caps aren't going to be...
Seems you're not the only one with sound issues on thi board. One of the reviews at newegg mentions that the onboard sound can't be disabled. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16813131368 I was going to be upgrading myself, but there are too many issues, even with "top...
Did a quick search here, nothing, so thought I'd pass this along:
Linux embedded devices being used in botnet (from dslreports)
No remote admin folks!
And change those damn passwords!
Well this thread was great, I learned a lot about where I should be spending my money, the differences between the chipsets and the resultant impacts. All from some very knowledgable guys, all trying to help out and all of whom had valuable input, who eventually managed to come off sounding like...
Any resolution?
I've been checking out reviews on this board, considering buying it.
As to your question, I couldn't say other than all reviews refer to the chipset as being very hot, and many suggest the higher end cpus would be really pushing it.
Perhaps putting a fan on it may help.
Keep it. I've bought just abort every version of Win (outside of server versions) there's been. If they think I'll keep shelling out more money for new OS's and software to go with it every few years they've got another thing coming. And I have too. Linux P.S. And my hardware is way more...
