I know, it just seems that in M2TW there were a lot more unique units. And well it kind of is guns and cavalry, but pikemen are still important. And I think Empire makes you think a lot more because of the possibility of a cannon destroying a whole unit.

I'm playing through Fallout 3 on my 360 (building my PC atm). I'm only 10 hours in, but I am loving it! GTA IV was also great.

I would go with the Q6600 for the exact reasons you just said. And browsing the web while playing around in CS3 will greatly benefit from the Quad core.

I like BF:BC. The singleplayer is much better than I expected, and the MP is good, when I can connect. I can't get into any games atm, it just says "Searching for games."
